The first sign that they don't read defenses is looking to the sideline the entire time the play clock is running down to zero and we get another delay of game

quote:

"You're not going to learn a lot throwing the football at LSU. I'm sorry,”

Another reason we suck. Much like dual threat QB's rarely work in the NFL because they are taught in college to run instead of read defenses and make progressions and it's too late to learn to be a QB once you reach the NFL......it's hard to learn to be a QB at LSU when 75% of the gameplan is running the football and the other 25% of the time you have the easiest throws removed from the gameplan...........add on top of that a 50% completion percentage in those 25% of plays and you have the reason why the Les Miles offense doesn't work

Just another reason why we are doomed every time we sign another dual threat QB

They always scheme for opponents. You saw it against A&M last year.

Well, this is just plain ignorant.

i hope you dont actually believe this

Well, yeah I do. I've watched LSU enough to realize that Miles doesn't adjust his approach to expose his opponents weaknesses.

Once again, I'm sorry you're too stupid to see that.

Yeah what would a Hall of Fame, 4 time Super Bowl Champion, 1st player selected in the 1970 draft that called his own plays QB know?

He was also a quarterback who struggled for several years, went back & forth being benched & was almost run out of Pittsburgh before the light came on in 5th year in the NFL. I guess Chuck Noll should be considered a failure too for not having Bradshaw developed right away, right? The Steelers had the defense to win a Super Bowl 2 years before their first one in 1975 but the bumbling Bradshaw held them back.

He was talking about the rest of the team

oh and if you think mettenburger would have been what he is today without cam camerons coaching you are delusional

Mettenberger was who he is now before Cam Cameron. There wasn't a magical transformation like everyone seems to keep saying. Did he get better? Yes, that's what 99.9% of athletes do from year to year. Bad play calling had more to do with the differences between 2012 and 2013. And go back and look at game film from the 2nd half of 2013, the offense went back to its conservative ways.

Not to mention, there are a lot of other QB coaches around the country that could have made Mettenberger better.........in fact there's usually about 100 or so better passing games than LSU's every year.

I have to agreed with Terry on this. It doesn't matter what team we play, we run the same plays and try to run into 9 man boxes and we don't attack teams that are known to have terrible secondaries.

One game, out of 13. Yeah, that proves your point.

What about Arkansas? Bama? State? Auburn? All of those Ds had issues in the secondary so why did LSU not try to expose that?

how many days are there between the draft and this day?

Seriously? Being ready by the regular season is all that matters. Nobody gives a flip about preseason. That's what preseason is for.

Before Cam Cameron, Mettenberger couldn't hit the deep ball to save his life. Overthrew wide open WRs by 5 yards.

Like the Arkansas game this past season. Sorriest offensive play called game of all time.
Miles is the worst offensive minded coach for a big time school in the entire country

Tons of pass plays were called. Couldn't run or pass block.

Bama

Wasn't that bad overall. If TQ catches the ball, Dural doesn't slip, and Vadal doesn't get flagged, it's a W.

Auburn

Harris couldn't execute. We were actually getting 6-8 yards by running on first down. By the time Jennings was in, the grave was dug already.
