Depends on the infrastructure and how much you want to scale. Buddy had 14 ponds about 20 yards x 50 yards each for production.(about 3'-4' deep) So it was a pretty big operation.

Oh shite. I was just thinking like a 15 foot diameter drum. Is that sustainable? Or do they need more room that that?

Pretty sure you can grow them in anything as long as you do not overcrowd.
