Don't hate them but also don't get the obsession. Jam bands aren't really my thing, but, to each their own.

I don't hate them. I can enjoy them, actually.
I just think jam fans can be annoying (shocker), especially those who think that they're somehow musically and intellectually enlightened when compared to people who shrug their shoulders at Phish and the like.

This is how I feel too. I like jam bands for the most part but I don't really "get" Phish. I respect their musicianship but just don't get into the music.

I dont really hate them either, I just find his singing annoying as all get out. if WSP and Phish would STFU they would be tolerable.
what is worse is all the fans singing along at shows.
Trey may sound bad but the dude who has drank 5 PBRs, done a gram of molly, and 5 balloons of NOZ sounds worse.

They are probably my favorite band, but I've never tried to force them down anyone's throat. I realize that they are weird, and make weird-arse music. I know that it isn't the most accessible music to the casual listener. I am just a pretty weird dude who enjoys talented musicians that push the boundaries of normality in an original way, so Phish is right up my alley.

I could see how people can hate how ridiculous the fans are (my friends give me shite about it all time time) but if you haven't listened to Phish's live stuff in their prime of 1993-2000 then you are missing out on the greatest live act of all time.
