Why do people use the term out kicking your coverage? It's bad in football to do that. But in life it means a bland guy married a hot girl. Since when is that bad?

People see it as he was the lucky one somehow. No one thinks he could get another good looking woman?
Both have high value in their own way. He has money/power/fame. She's easy on the eyes. That can work. Didn't in this case but I don't have a problem with it.

When you out kick your coverage in football, it looks good at first but is more likely to turn out badly than a shorter kick because you are out there with no defense.
When you out kick your coverage with a girl, it also looks good at first but it is more likely to turn out badly when the girl realizes her mistake, gets the dick from a better looking dude, and takes a bunch of your money on the way out.
They are both fun while the ball is in the air though.
