There's an older guy who has been riding his bike along North Street downtown in the mornings. Last week I nearly hit his dumb arse as he crossed against a light to come onto North then proceeded to go up the street against traffic. And he looked at me like I was the a-hole for honking my horn at him.
The a-holes all dressed up in their spandex crap have no problem running right through red lights, stop signs, etc. Then the wonder why nobody "respects" them.

Passing on the right IN THE SAME LANE while a car is moving ahead of you is really the problem here. It's stupid to allow it. I told him he was wrong because I couldn't imagine something so dangerous to be legal. I was correct, though, to angrily tell him "YOU DON'T DO THAT".

quote:Are you mad because they do this at the risk of your safety, or are you feeling spiteful because they're getting away with shite that you can't do in your car? If it's the latter, that's tough, because there will always be an acute focus on cars for obvious reasons, some good, some chickenshitty.

One basic reason that it's good that we live in a universe where I can get away with running reds on my bike but not in my car is because this indicates said acute focus. Obviously we as a society need to be more vigilant of cars than of bikes since cars are far more dangerous, cumbersome, and costly in terms of roads needed.
One chickenshit reason that this imbalance of focus exists is because the city of Brusly stands to obtain more revenue by pulling over an SUV than by pulling over a bike. It's sort of a fact of life.

If I'm not pulling along the right hand side, I'm going to sit in the middle of the lane so no one is tempted to cut me off.

Spooked a cyclist at a stop sign. He thought I wasn't going to see him when I jumped the brakes. Flew over handle bars cause dummy only engaged his front brakes and separated his shoulder. He was pissed and started yelling at me. I said be mad at yourself for one getting spooked to easy and two being a cyclist. Police came out, officer told him he couldn't understand with all the private areas for them to ride why they like the public roads so much.

They are like cattle sometimes. They follow the rules about as well as cattle would if it were lose in traffic.

So, you ran a stop sign and acted like you were going to hit a guy on a bike just to scare him?

Police officer should probably leave his opinion out of it.
This is why it's a good idea to wear a Go Pro on your bike.

Automobiles blow through stop signs and red lights everyday too. I see it multiple times a day. People who disobey traffic laws are assholes and it doesn't matter if they're on a bike or in a car.

Well alright then, I will no longer pull up alongside stopped cars at a stop light (because that is just so unsafe when you are going 2 mph). It's the law. When I annoy the piss out of everyone and they start yelling at me, I'll just reference them to Tigerdroppings, where all etiquette/legal/moral decisions are ultimately decided upon .
And I hope you feel shame the next time you pull up on the right of someone to make a right on red even though there is space, but not an actual turning lane, because it's against the law damn it! And there's no way anyone can safely do that!
You're apparently the type of arse cyclist are referring to. Perfectly understandable to be pissed when the cyclist does something wrong, but when you're going out of your way to screw with them, you become the arse.

I agree that they should take the entire lane but most motorist do not believe this should happen.
I've taken the entire lane with another cyclist where there is not enough room to pass safely until we could stop at an empty parallel parking spot and allow this man to pass us. He was honking non-stop but it was only a 35 mph speed limit anyway.

drivers are the most selfish, entitled bunch there is and there's no way you can deny it
they're wearing the appropriate gear for their activity. I'm sure you also do the same you narrowminded frick
can't tell you how many times I've seen people in cars do the same shite. I see it literally everyday. I honestly can't recall the last time I've seen a car stop at a stop sign. And lets not mention the dumbasses that block crosswalks at red lights. Also the selfish, inconsiderate fricks that block intersections.
quote:
And as a side note, why do they have to wear skin tight, ugly-as-shite outfits to go on a damn bike ride? What's up with that? If you're qualifying for a time trial at the Tour de France, sure. But why are these weekend douches spending $200 on riding suits?

Nope. It was dusk and cyclist was drafting behind a vehicle. I was stopped for over a minute when the car passed I proceeded to merge into busy traffic, and at the last minute notice the cyclist illegally drafting too close behind the SUV. He even admitted he was drafting.
The gopro would have actually been for me as he easily could have lied about the incident had I made contact with him, which I did not. I did however jump the brakes.
So, you're dumb
