That same site had the 10 most dangerous cities in Louisiana... and Opelousas wasn't #1. Not to mention no New Orleans or Baton Rouge. Garbage.

Your chance of becoming a victim of a crime in Opelousas? One in 11.

Mainly property crime, so keep your shite locked up in Opelousas or it will walk away.

Note: We use a standard computational formula to calculate our crime rates. This same formula is used by various state government criminal justice departments to calculate crime rate.

VIOLENT CRIMES + PROPERTY CRIMES = TOTAL REPORTED CRIMES

TOTAL REPORTED CRIMES / POPULATION * 1000 = CRIME RATE

I think your population needs to be north of 100k to be on this list. If you have a population of 10k with 4 murders a year, you will probably make this this.

A bit surprised to see Anniston on there. I go through there quite a bit and it seems pretty quiet to me. Bessemer is no surprise though. Still, it doesn't seem as dangerous as some of the parts of north Birmingham. Hell, Gate City alone is only a barely half step above Thunderdome.

So Alabama, Pennsylvania, and Michigan are the workhorses of crimes in this country.
