obviously for some it is if they continually pay for it

and if you factor in housemade bread and other speciality toppings, I could see the price

but you know all that, you're just being "that guy" like you always do

Not at all .. that's just my opinion .. and most of the time, the bread isn't homemade .. Sysco sells sweet buns that reheat nicely .. what specialty toppings make it worth that much ? they are usually toppings that are parts of other dishes that just get crossed over or come out of giant cans out of the walk in .. Look at what you pay for other dishes at restaurants that have a far far higher food and labor cost .. burgers are just overpriced cash cows (no pun intended) ..

No worries, we all have opinions and values.

I suggest never dinning out in the neighborhood LPG is in. You might have a heart attack when you see how much the cauliflower is at Pizza Domenica.

You can get a damn fine plate of crawfish étouffée -- which takes 100 times the effort and time to prepare -- for less than $16 ..

Not a great comparison

That's actually an easy dish to make and takes minimal effort and time

Do you think a hamburger is worth $16 ?

I think it takes a little longer and costs a little more to make an étouffée vs. a hamburger ..

Depends. Not all burgers are crappy ground beef and Sysco buns and ingredients.

Some places will take the trimmings of their prime/choice ribeyes and use that as the meat.

It is a little longer but it is very little effort. I would argue that cooking a burger is harder

1 serving of etouffee probably costs the same as a burger with quality products

Burgers just aren't that special to me .. You could put a supposed five star burger and a run of the mill Chimes burger in front of me, and I wouldn't really notice the difference .. Hell .. I'd probably prefer the Chimes burger ..

Me neither but I do get cravings for them every now and then. Tbh, I think the toppings is my favorite part. I'm a sucker for jalapeños and pickles

Of course I won't .. I don't think Giancarlo Stanton is worth his contract and I'm not going to pay his salary ..

Damn that must suck not being able to taste the differences in foods. But I guess you save a lot of money that way.

Just finished a burger at High Hat. Damn tasty.

Cowbell, LPG, High Hat, Luke, and probably Bouligny Tavern are all better than Company Burger, IMO.

It's been a while since I've had the Luke burger, but with LPG and Bouligny Tavern around the corner I'll have to check those out.

I enjoy a good burger and wouldn't balk at a $16 price tag, if you don't want to pay that for a burger, don't. It's a pretty simple concept. This same argument is brought up all the time with cars, watches, etc. We all have have luxuries that we are willing to pay for, some are different than others. I'm not gonna be mad at you if you drive a Lexus over a Kia or wear a Brietling rather than a Timex. (Not directed at you Yeezy).
