Pooks Crawfish Hole is the best, but it's not a short ride from Houston.

South on 45 towards Galveston in Santa fe. Pretty close to Nasa.

I've sent a few people on this board there and have had good responses each time.

Seafood to Geaux in Katy is about the best on the West side of town.

Try Ragin Cajun on Richmond inside the loop.

I'll have to try them out. I live in Dickinson, but I haven't had any crawfish in the two years I've lived here.

Edit: shite, I better get there quick. Just looked up prices on Facebook, and they are going to be filming a segment for the Travel Channel on Tuesday, so they will probably be jacking up prices soon.

Byob, man.

And the bugs are fantastic. Apparently, you're my neighbor. I'm down the street in bay colony.

Boil House - good crawfish and Dwayne is a good dude. It's not cheap, but crawfish in Houston just aren't cheap.

Bayou City is just down the street and much better IMO. I have never enjoyed Ragin Cajuns crawfish.

Texas Crawfish Barn out 290 and Cypress Rosehill. They have a kids menu, only open Thursday-Sunday each day till sold out. Their crawfish are huge right now and @6.50/lb or 5.95 for 15 +lbs. BYOB too

Anyone have an idea on where to get live crawfish at good price? (Not HEB). I'm in Katy if that helps.

Good Ole Boys sells live but they will be higher than HEB.

Single Barrel Crawfish comes thru Houston every Thursday on their way to deliver to Austin and San Antonio. They will meet you somewhere off i-10 and sell you whatever you want. They are usually fair priced and good sized.

Our neighbor did a boil a week or so ago and got them from a guy in Richmond. Supposedly the guy runs over and gets them from someplace in La, they were some of the best I've had...huge crawfish and really tasty.

Anymore suggestions. Our boil will be up near The Woodlands/Spring area of Houston. But we can drive a little bit if the quality is worth it.

Suggested already but Good Ole Boys was the only place we ever got them from in the 6 years I lived in Houston. Their supplier is in Crowley I believe. Yes, they were a bit more expensive live than HEB but the cost was easily worth it.
