That was his first error not based off a bad throw at 1st. He is batting .360 his last 5 games. But yall want a .256 hitter with 2 errors to play over him

I said "late game defensive adjustments"
And yes, Zardons errors came when he was playing 3rd (on throwing errors after fielding the ball) Chinea would have never made a throw because he wouldn't have even fielded it. First base is just a tiny bit easier position to man.

As far as batting averages, Zardon is a mere 8 points behind Chinea, however, he has a higher on base percentage & higher slugging percentage. If either happen to bat again in this "late game defensive adjustment", you better hope it's a right handed pitcher. Chinea is batting 176 against lefties, Zardon is batting 409

Yep, Zardon allows us to substitute a better defensive lineup on the IF and allows us to keep Foster's bat and he ends up in a more natural position for him, LF or RF. We need an OF that can throw someone out especially at the end of a tight game. Teams run on us constantly. It's a conundrum lineup-wise....

I've always felt PM was the best coach at LSU from the big 3. Seeing last night and Houston last year is starting to make me think he's overrated. You could maybe sprinkle Stony Brook in there too...

People probably wouldn't be talking like this if it was just one game. But this comes after stoney brook and houston

We wouldn't be talking but for this. We were deficient in the same respect last night. For example, poor baserunning, though that is a recurrent theme even in wins. Poor fundamentals with respect to bunting, yet another recurring theme. Infield rarely looks 'crisp', except Bregman who knows for sure where he'll start defensively tomorrow on the IF (LOL). Last year I thought the only IF we had that could start for Houston was Bregman, especially defensively.

The game should have never got to extra innings to start with. The extra run we would have ended up scoring had Sciambra not run past Foster on the bases sure would have come in handy. Plus the continued decisions to out pitchers in just because it's a certain inning.

You'd think the season was over and we are going fishing after reading this thread. We are #1 in the country..coach really fricked up last night but I dont believe it to be the norm.

That's baseball . shite happens in baseball. LSU wins 2/3 from Kentucky.

Not Poche's fault.

I don't think anyone is blaming Poche. And there was plenty last night that wasn't "just baseball."

Every loss it's always in the coach. Every loss he is doing something wrong. Wrong lineup. Wrong timing in pitching. Blah blah. It's baseball correct. You will never win every game. We have 4 losses and people are acting like we are struggling to make a regional already. I thought ell played but it sounds more and more like he never played because he bitches after every close game or loss. I guess we should win every game by 5. And I know geauxxxx never played except picking splinters out his arse.

One thing we are finding out is Poche doesn't seem to go as deep into games as you'd want a friday night starter.

The "stuff happens in baseball" excuse doesn't fly for last night,mCPM blew it.

Also, Ell hasn't been griping after every loss, he's been consistent that even though we were winning, some of Mainieri's lineup will eventually cost us. And there it was, a poor defensive first baseman hurt us badly last night. I'd say he looks pretty smart on that call.

Lmao. If they throw it to the right base they only score one. We probably win if that happens. How'd that hurt us badly?

I don't mind subbing in a different 1b there but saying that hurt us badly is extreme. I'd mind having him not in the line up at all.

Uhhh, last night was. If you don't know that then you really need to stop hyping up your glory days of playing JUCO ball because you obviously didn't learn a goddamn thing there. You're Uncle Rico impression is getting old.

Nice uncle Rico joke. Too bad I never claimed how I should be in the majors. So that joke doesn't really work as well as you'd like.

I did make some checks playing.
