Gives money to groups that lobby for something shitty. I also get sick of people calling them "hate groups" I'm pretty sick of the gays in general so I don't really care.

Chick-Fil-A makes some kick arse breakfast burritos. This marriage issue hasn't affected me, the burritos have so they get my business.
Would recommend them: 8.8/10.

Exactly. Thinks it and writes a fricking book about it.

but chic FIL a's principles earned them a shitzillion dollar
Their awesome chicken and service did the bulk of it I'm sure, but their principles certainly galvanized a good chunk of their customer base, which is a profound accomplishment for a fast good business. I can't remember anything comparable.
Oh yeah, btw, frick that guy.

So Chick-fil-A is a hateful company? And that girl should be ashamed of herself for working at a hateful company? Remember : he said very little about pro-Gay, and chick-fil-a never said anything anti-gay.
I left this thread alone but came back and saw I was at risk of being seen as on the same side as StrongSafety.
To clarify, I don't think CFA is a hateful company. I don't think the groups they supported are hate groups. I do think gay marriage should be legal, but that never plays a part in my decision to eat delicious chicken. I am not a SJW (ironically this is the group that celebrates the destruction of a person's life for something they did or said publicly).
My only opinion on this matter is, assuming the story of him being unemployable for 3 years is true (apparently in dispute based on some digging), I think that sucks for him and I do have sympathy for a relatively minor error in judgement having such an impact on the rest of your life.
I would not celebrate a 16 year old living their entire life in poverty because they posted a racist, hateful, bigoted rant or video on social media either. I am not comparing a 16 year old to a CFO, only emphasizing that something like this should not bring down a life sentence to poverty or hardship on an entire family. I imagine the guy has learned his lesson about flaunting his opinions in such a public and rude manner.
The fact that more and more evidence shows this guy is a megadouche does not change that for me. As a principle, being happy with this situation, to me, would be the same as if someone like Adam Smith celebrated CFA going under and the CEO (who is by no accounts a megadouche) losing his livelihood because of his opinions. The punishment doesn't fit the crime.

I may have to try chic fil a one of these days...it just sounds so unappealing. I'm partial to dead cows

Hate to hear about anyone struggling. I just cannot understand what he hoped to achieve by doing that? When you have people who depend on you, then don't risk anything when the pay off is nothing. Well that applies to everyone, but still.
Exactly my feelings. Kind of like wrecklessly getting in a barfight when you're a parent. What good can possibly come of that? There are situations where a parent needs to think of his/her kids and this was definitely one of them.

They make some kick arse breakfast too. Sausage burritos and hashbrowns are yummy.
My fave is still the spicy chicken biscuit(or sammich for lunch) with pepper jack cheese and mayo.

It fits it perfectly. Smiths company didn't like how he was behaving so they canned him. A job is a privilege, especially a $200k a year one. And no he can't find anything close to that. When will people realize social media is a very real communication tool?

He wasn't fired for his principles. He was fired because he was foolish enough to post video evidence of him being a real jerk to someone who was being perfectly civil to him.
The girl that probably makes $12/hour came off as more professional, mature, and collected than this executive.
He made the decision to post it on social media. He shot himself in the foot on that one.

The amazon reviews of that book are pretty scathing.
This dude is so self-absorbed. He probably thought he was gonna cash in from this book.

I don't care what Chik Fil A believes as far as gay marriage is concerned. Their chicken is a great fast food option if you're in a fix. That dude should learn that there are consequences to his free speech.

quote:And, contemplate that for a moment. This means he watched the video afterwards and STILL thought it was awesome. That's why his "apology" is horse shite. He claims in the apology video to have had remorse for how he talked to her as soon as he was finished. Um...........dude. You watched the video and then uploaded it man.
He made the decision to post it on social media. He shot himself in the foot on that one.
This dumb arse thought he was going to get bunch of pats on the back in praise for his social justice actions.
