Why is he berating a Chick-fil-a employee? How is it supposed to be her fault? Also, his kids look adopted. He looks like a douchebag, and obviously is.

Sorry, I don't believe this story for one minute. Someone who has the skills to be a CFO does not struggle to find a job for THREE years.

Probably thought this book he wrote would get bought by the gays he "supported" by hating on this Chick-Fil-A employee.

There's a strange irony that he thinks his principles cost him money...because it didn't, but chic FIL a's principles earned them a shitzillion dollars

It seems like he really didnt think he was wrong, but simply tried to "cash-in" on the attention it received. I dont even care if he's a good writer. His story doesnt seem in the least bit interesting. Instead of being a dumbass and writing a book. maybe he should have got a job that kept his damn family off food stamps.

How much are your principles really worth? What price is too much to pay? In the abstract these seem like easy questions to answer. On a purely philosophical level, there can be only one response. But, when fighting for what you believe is right causes your foundation to crumble, the answer isn t always clear. Adam Smith grew up in an impoverished and deeply religious family. From the agonizing struggle to meet the basic needs of life to the crushing quest for acceptance in adolescence, Adam learned quickly that everything he wanted from life had a high price tag . But, he was not finished learning this lesson. After achieving his dream of being financially secure and successful, Adam discovered the cost to his marriage was a sacrifice he was unwilling to make and walked away from a lucrative career. Finding balance between work and home, Adam settled into a rewarding life with a job he loved and an expanding family that gave it all meaning . . . until he made the choice to stand up for the rights of someone else. His now infamous protest began with the painful renouncement of many of the religious teachings that once formed his world view yet no longer made sense, and ended with the even more devastating surrender of his sense of safety and security. As the journey continues, Adam has found that instead of seeking the ever-moving bar of financial success and approval of others, building the great personal wealth that comes from embracing imperfections and living an authentic life is worth any price . This is what that excerpt tells me about how he's portrayed in the book.

Adam Smith

-Came from a lowly, harsh, and highly disadvantaged environment where he was forced to be religious.

-He came into financial success, but even though he knew he could get rich, he said no because of his family.

-Then he tried to stand up for someone, and everyone gets mad at poor Adam but Adam is now deeper than just money.

THE END

Berating a young girl who he doesn't know anything about = standing up for someone else

He sounds like even more of a self centered prick. Now he's a drain on everyone else just like the good old days

That book is another reason he cant get hired. He STILL thinks the problem in the video is his choice of issue and not the fact that he was an immature a-hole that ended up looking 10 times less professional than the drive thru clerk

So a CFO didn't have a ton saved in the bank and his house paid off?

Chick Fil A should come out and publicly offer him a job, as a drive thru cashier.

Also, the story says about few months after he was hired at his second job, Smith was fired from that job after his new boss discovered he was the guy from the Chick-Fil-A video.

This was the job in Portland?

When I looked at his LinkedIn profile (which does mention his new book coming out this month, so, I think it's the right one) the timeline seems off.

It lists:
- First, a job in Arizona where he was CFO until August 2012, which presumably is the original job he was fired from over the video.
- A second job in Portland Oregon, which "also" matches the article here... yet, that job is listed as starting only 6 months later, in Feb. 2013... and it says he kept that job for 2 years, until January 2015.

So... he lost everything and went on food stamps after just seven months of being unemployed, over his own stupid actions? But then he gets and keeps a job for two years, until just a couple months ago?

hmm, sure, OK...

Very surprised this guy isn't living well off a GoFundMe account heavily funded by the gay/lesbian community. I am sure there are thousands of well to do gays in the world willing to throw a few hundred a year his way.

So Chick-fil-A is a hateful company? And that girl should be ashamed of herself for working at a hateful company? Remember : he said very little about pro-Gay, and chick-fil-a never said anything anti-gay.

Oh he was hoping the pay off would be copious amounts of praise being showered on him by other similar thinking individuals; hence, why would he have posted the video to youtube? Heck, why would he have taped any of it at all?

Dude didn't realize that there are still many, many people that don't fall in line with his way of thinking, but he still got his 15 minutes.
