Mrs. Wrench always gets the chicken salad sandwich.

I get the Newk's-Q pizza most of the time. Very good. It may or may not be on their menu, but it exists.

The pimento mac n' cheese is tasty.

I haven't been to the in BR yet, but have been to other locations many times.

I like most of the sandwiches, Newks Favorite salad, and Tippah Co caviar.

I think its fantastic for what it is. Very fresh, everything made to order, prices are market value, atmosphere is lively. The menu is creative enough to allow you to try lots of different things over time.

I've always had good experiences, except one time.......they have a little bar that has complimentary bread and butter pickles and roasted garlic. The wife went a little heavy on the garlic and later that night I had garlic sex!!!!! It was rough, but I pushed through.

You need to do a Yelp review. That's bad right there.

Do you mind telling the class where it's at?

I've been a Newk's fan for 6 years. Once you eat at Newk's it is difficult to eat at Mcallister's again.

My favorites:
Spicy chicken pizza
Grilled chicken sandwich
Pimento cheese (pick it up to go)
Greek salad and add chicken
Loaded baked potato soup

The one that opened is on Corporate. They are also putting one in Northgate where the old Gatti's was

Newks is great

Please don't ever mention Newks and McAllisters in the same sentence again

It's the same company.

Not so sure it is the same company. Same founders.

quote:

Newk’s founders, Chris Newcomb, Don Newcomb and Debra Bryson, were formerly part of the executive management team that grew McAlister’s Deli into a nationwide chain of deli shops. The partners sold their interest in the company in 2001, and opened the first Newk’s in 2004.

And from the Newk's website:

quote:

Newk’s was founded in 2004 by Don Newcomb, Debra Bryson and Chris Newcomb in Oxford, Mississippi. The team had previously founded McAlister’s Deli and transformed the restaurant into one of the fastest-growing, fast-casual restaurants of the time. After providing a solid foundation and establishing strong upward growth for McAlister’s Deli, they sold the chain and soon began to focus on their new venture, using an abbreviated version of “Newcomb” for the restaurant name.

I usually get the combo deal. Half a sandwich with either a salad or soup. I go for the Caesar in hot weather and soup when it's cold.

Holy shite. This restaurant in that location may break a billion in sales. I have been wondering what has taken so long for someone to take that spot, i guess the rent is astronomical

ETA: Im exaggerating with the billion, but they will absolutely print money in that spot

Bc LSU students bitched about raising the price 1 dollar to keep up with costs. Straight from the owner's mouth.

From what I understand, some of the apartments around there and Kirby Smith were closed, which reduced the amount of student foot traffic in the area. Plus, you had all those students who would sneak containers in their booksacks -- they would gorge themselves on pizza, then walk out with enough slices for two more meals.

Haven't been to the BR one yet, but the Italian sandwich with extra hot peppers is amazing. I agree with going for the combo - half sandwich and a cup of soup. Good stuff.
