This isn't a knock on BCS. It's that BB set the bar exceptionally high.
Is anyone else wishing BCS wasn't connected to BB?
When BCS was first announced, I was excited to get a return to the Breaking Bad universe, but at this point, I think BCS has settled itself as its own show. I hope they never bring BCS fully up to Walt entering the store. In fact, it'd be great if around season three, they skip ahead to Jimmy watching old Saul tapes in Nebraska and bring us to the present timeline of his life.

Outside of the Mike episode, which was great and a pay off to BB fans, this show is it's own thing.
Vince Gilligan is a flat out genius.

I think it's already understood that Walt and Jessie will appear at some point.
But they've done an incredible job of making BCS its own show

I doubt Walt will ever appear. Pre-BB he wouldn't have much opportunity to cross paths with Saul.
Jesse appearing is much more plausible. I think Hank will show up eventually as well.

This could definitely be an interesting twist. Id also like to see flashbacks to things happening during BB from Sauls POV

I truly believe both Chuck and Jimmy's HH&M blonde bimbo are gonna frick Jimmy over "for the firm". The preview for next week saw Chuck and Jimmy on what looked like a park bench, so Chuck seems to be deep into "recovery". And Jimmy's bimbo is more interested in climbing the partner ladder than in Jimmy IMO.
Yep. Between them and HHM Jimmy will realize he can't make it doing things the right way. They'll frick him over and the need he has to please them will disappear. I just hope Saul gets revenge on these mf'ers. Especially Hamlin and his self righteous brother. frick Chuck. I have no doubt he's gonna stab his little bro in the back to get back in the game.

I'd be satisfied just seeing this again.

I think Gilligan is genius enough to pull it off, but towards the end or in flashbacks, do you think we have BB timeframe and the opposite view of events?
The story has progressed to the same timeframe as BB and we see some interaction with Walk/Jesse/Gus, but the 90% of the story is based on what Sal was doing when those three weren't on screen

Don't look for Saul in the near future.
According to Gilligan and Gould, how he gets there is less a question of specific steps and more one of establishing motivation. “I worried all through Season 1 that we weren’t getting to Saul Goodman fast enough,” Gilligan said, but added “now I’ve come around 180 degrees and I’m thinking ‘God, I don’t want to get to Saul too quick’, I love Jimmy McGill so much.” The key question, so Gilligan and Gould said, isn’t “how long does it take to turn Jimmy McGill into Saul Goodman,” but “what kind of problem does becoming Saul Goodman solve?”
To that end, the show has certain places it must reach in order to eventually meet in the middle with Breaking Bad, something Gilligan and Gould say they’ve loosely mapped out. In doing so, they’re taking pains to stay faithful to the parent show. Asked how much the creators feel beholden to established canon, Gilligan was firm. “We’re beholden to the fans, the fans who pay strict attention and we want to honor them for that, we want to reward them for that,” he said.
“We will make mistakes, no doubt about that, but we intend not to, we intend to make as small a number of mistakes as possible…. Instead of us saying ‘Yeeeah, we have a vague memory of this happening, but we like this thing better so we won’t abide by some offhanded comment or some bit of plot that we had back in Breaking Bad. We got something better, let’s just go with that and hope people squint their eyes at it.’ We wanna be as accurate as possible.”

The two things bringing most of the anticipation are 1) Jimmy becoming Saul and 2) Mike becoming Mike and establishing his working relationship with Saul.
I wonder how this show would feel if BB didn't set this up for us.

That's how I read her line about the money
That's how I took it as well. When she said that I said aloud to the SO "that little bitch...".
The look on Mike's face said it all when she said that.

Are the short opening credits foreshadowing? Every time it is a different scene.
Hard to say. I've been wondering about them also. I'm guessing they are bits of video that Saul has captured that we're seeing, but no idea on the why/how.
Maybe erroneous footage from some early S'ALL GOOD MAN commercial prototypes? Or perhaps video evidence in a case of his, or against him?
I can't speak for all of them, but for this episode with the tarantula walking around and the episode with the drawer full of cell phones, they allude to scenes in Breaking Bad. Remember the tarantula near the train tracks in Season 5 and Saul Goodman's drawer of cell phones?
