anyone been? Never been and considering going on Saturday.

I assume you pay the admission and then walk around to the different tents and food is served up?

Go.
Go.
Go.
Go.
One of the best events of the year. And for a great cause.

bump: So I'm getting conflicting reports. Do you pay for admission and then still pay for the BBQ once inside? That can't be true, right?

You do. It is a charity event, so it is a bit different than a "regular" festival. I am okay with this, as the more expensive tickets that come with $45+ in "hog dollars" wouldn't be worth it since I don't plan to eat a whole lot.

Yeah you're right, it's one of those charities that gives money away.

ETA: Go and enjoy the food, and music. Feel good that you contributed to a good cause while gorging yourself.

yes - if you get a gen admission ticket, you still pay separate for food and drink. But, the prices inside are relatively cheap, especially for the quality of the food. There is great live music all day long, too.

Yeah, but the music lineup is deserving of the entry fee.

It's like Jazzfest or most other music festivals. Your ticket gets you entrance and you purchase food from vendors.

It is worth it.

yea - its not just an entry fee to buy food, its a good music event that could pretty well stand alone at the price of admission.

the food isnt very pricey. It's usually sample sizes.

A lot of our dishes we sell at or below cost. Typically food is $5-7.

Word. I'm definitely still going. Thanks for the answers. I guess most of the food festivals I've been to aren't charity related.
