As long as the player and team knows who the guy is why does there have to be an "announcement"?
My guess is that Miles will become aggravated enough by the constant questioning that he will give some kind of rambling non-sensical quasi-announcement the week of the first game

Hell, Les didn't even announce Jamarcus over Matt Flynn in 2006, which was a no brainer and obvious to anyone who was paying attention.

um to instill confidence and show the team who to get behind.. also, um who exactly do we start the season against? not like this tipping of the hand is of much significance against such competition.
all things equal, i really hope to see harris be named the guy and for him to get all the support, simply because he is most talented.

Thursday, SEptember 3, after practice. And I think it is possible that both guys play a lot versus McNeese State on Sept 5.
