Its no secret that we use Lousiana in athletics so I'm not sure what you're trying to prove to me there. You said the university clearly uses UL in an academic setting. So....?
ETA: just checked out the baseball twitter you mentioned. It has 13 tweets ever and the last one was in 2012. And I guess you didn't make it this far in the description..

Your baseball team, which is an extension and representation of your academic institution uses UL and describes itself as "University of Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns" not simply "Louisiana", which is the argument Cajun fans usually use.
I don't know why y'all argue it so much. Admit it, your school wants to be UL, the University of Louisiana, and your willing skirt and circumvent, and maybe even downright break laws to push your agenda.
No need to justify all your little subtle nuances you use to be cute about it.

Probably so. Doesn't change the fact that everything I've ever received in an academic capacity from the university (which outweighs athletics in level of importance) has always used UL Lafayette or University of Louisiana at Lafayette. All documents, notifications, e-mail, university social media and anything not related to athletics uses UL Lafayette or the full name.

It's funny because it's true by history. But today, Tulane is the furthest school in the state from a Louisiana University when it comes to student body composition.
