Miles said the scrimmage was a first down scrimmage and that no other down-and-distance situations were featured.

“It was a sloppy first scrimmage certainly,” Miles said. “I felt like the knick-knack penalties, the slow drives, linemen mistakes made it a basic first scrimmage. It was just a lot like our first scrimmages we’ve had here in the past.”

Miles said the offense scored four times, which included a long touchdown run by Leonard Fournette on the first series of the scrimmage. Jennings and Harris combined to throw three TDs passes and one interception with Harris tossing two of them.

“I’d have to see the statistics a little bit more,” Miles said. “Might give (Harris) the edge today.”

Miles said Travin Dural, Trey Quinn and D.J. Chark caught touchdown passes during the scrimmage.

“We split the reps up equally (between Harris and Jennings) and I think both guys have improved,” Miles said. “I think there are spots were they need improvement. Our tempo is a little faster. I think our guys enjoy faster tempo. Our quarterbacks are coming, and our offense is helping them come.”

Thanks for the post and the link. Nice to hear IMO that Harris is slightly ahead based on the first scrimmage.

Same thing every year. Next scrimmage he says Jennings played better. Throw for 200, run for 200, defense played better than the offense.

I feel like both QB's will be improved and we will be at least average at the position if not better next year

Harris will be spoken well of until the first game when the, starter, (Jennings) appears.

Same old shite. Same offense, same actors, same shite.

A sharp reporter would look for clues that our OC has changed his approach/style to fit his QBs.

meh. I think Harris has a pretty good chance of beating out Jennings for the starters spot if he can get it together. Going to be tough though because Jennings is going to be greatly improved as well. On another note, I do like that they are getting the offense to operate at a faster tempo. I know some of ya'll liked the slow down style offense, but I never did.
