A little hole in the wall place in Picayune. Frostop.

Here are some reviews:

If you are ever going up I-59 from Slidell, stop in there. It is not a place that you would ever think of, but the Roast Beef is better than any I've had in New Orleans. Really a mess, but very flavorful. Always a line, but for $6.50 for a roast beef po boy, it is worth it.

I have no idea what the rest of the menu is like. I have only had the Roast Beef Po-Boy, but I recommend it.

I had a really good one the other day at Guilory's Deli in Metairie.

I used to love Yang's. Parkway isn't that flavorful but has a great texture. Bear's was the best balance I always thought.

I do love a good roast beef.

Bears northshore back in early 2000's. Haven't been in many years but back then that thing was top notch.

put that in your pipe and smoke it to the crowd who thinks NOLA folks only think you can get a good poboy in NOLA.

They put one in metairie ~5 years ago and it was on point for awhile until they got voted top poboy in town by the paper. After that things started going down hill. Prices went up and quality went down. I refuse to buy poboys there now. They also have or had one in Henry's on magazine but I found it to be too salty the one time I went there.

I believe Bear's is originally from Bucktown.

Yup. That place is rapidly becoming my favorite hole in the wall in town.

+1 on Harrys, but if you're talking "never had", then you've got to include the old Philip George's in Larose (and the old Kirbys in Golden Meadow).

Been there before. My dad loves that place for their roast beef poboys. They are pretty good.

Side note. Picayune does not have much to choose from for eating out however.

Teddy's Grill, a great joint at Filmore and Franklin that never re-opened after Katrina.

I had one many years ago from Salvo's that was brought to me at the table with a roll of paper towels. That was a good Po-Boy.

I remember when Bears was slinging Po-Boys out of a tiny arse metal building in the parking lot of their hardware store in Mandeville. My dad would send me to wait in that long arse line every weekend to pick him up a Roast Beef. They were damn good from what I remember.
