So far:

Franchise Tagged: Dez Bryant

Resigned:
DOUG Free RT
Cole Beasley WR

Signed:
Greg Hardy DE
Steven Gachkar LB
Jasper Brinkley MLB
Darren McFadden RB (pending physical)
Keith Rivers, LB (unlikely to be on the roster in Sept)

Lost to FA:
Jeremy Parnell OT
Dwayne Harris PR, KR, WR
Bruce Carter LB
Justin Durant LB
Henry Melton DT
deFumblo Murray RB

The bug news is will they or won't they resign Murray...they are at least now negotiating according to Dallas news sOurces but I think it's unlikely the Cowboys resign him.

So far Dallas has not really pursued any notable FA from other teams and it's unlikely they go after any big names. If they don't sign Murray or Rolando McLain they have big needs at RB and LB to go with their big other huge needs at DT DE and CB. They won't be able to plug all of those holes in the draft alone.

Melton signed with the Bucs

and I much would've rather have paid Parnell than Free. Also, they gave Beasley too much as well

I'll update the OP with Melton signing. Melton was never going to be resigned by Dallas. Terrel McClain was actually better than him last year

Parnell was pretty bad in the playoffs, and I think we'll actually end up with a 4th round compensatory pick for him. Don't get me wrong, he was very good in the regular season, but I like getting Free back at age 31 for 3 more years.

I don't have too much of a problem with this offseason so far. They're letting their role players go get overpaid elsewhere, instead of breaking the bank and overpaying them to stay which is how Jerry Jones used to run things. Even though it hurt as a fan, I was fine with them letting Ware walk last year and I'm fine with not overpaying anyone this year. Next offseason Dallas will have something like $40+ million to play with in free agency, so I'm not sweating them for not wanting to go into cap hell this year.

I've heard that they're wanting to go after DE Greg Hardy, and they'll more than likely grab a DT or DE in round 1 of the draft. If Murray signs elsewhere then they'll probably pick up a back like Ajayi or Yeldon in the 3rd.

Yeah somebody on the Cowboys Reddit board broke down the numbers and found that Murray was more efficient when Free was on the field instead of Parnell. I don't have a problem seeing him go.

As far as the comp picks, I believe next year we may get a 3rd for Murray and at least a 4th and 5th for the other guys who have left.

I would rather them sign Hardy than Murray to be honest. RB is easier to replace.

I don't want Hardy because I couldn't root for tPOS. RB is much easier replace and Jerry isn't doing typical Jerry Jones things and overpaying for players who had good success, but are demanding ridiculous contracts in the open market. I actually like this.

if Murray does sign with Philly, we might be able to go ahead and get Bryant's deal done

I like how they're handling the offseason so far. They're showing some restraint.

Prudent decisions.

DeMarco is getting his money, but I'm honestly glad we're not paying it. He had a hell of a season last year but he can be replaced and money can be well spent elsewhere.

Agreed. The only back that I would be cool with paying that type of money is Peterson. If Jerry can't pull him from Minnesota, then get a RB in the draft. There's plenty off great options to choose from.

Paying 8 million per year for Murray with HALF of the total contract guaranteed is just crazy imo.

Good riddance. His fumble cost us the super bowl.

Totally.

Sucks he's going to the Eagles but whatever. Hope that whole thing explodes sooner than later.

Is Adrian Peterson a real possibility or is he a pipe dream?

I wish we didn't have so many needs in the draft, I'd like us to get two RBs out of Gurley, Gordon, Yeldon, and Karlos Williams.
