Saints look stupid today...

Who knows how this pans out, but for now, the Saints looks like a team in panic mode. Loomis, who got lucky as hell with the Payton/Brees combo has wrecked this team with terrible drafts and horrible cap management. Trading away the best TE in Saints history and one of the best in the game today make the Saints look...stupid.
But it's admirable the way many of you are trying to convince yourself this is a good move!

Ok, I'll play along.
We didn't just win the Super Bowl.
We are 7-9 with deficiencies all across the board and in salary cap hell. So...you have to use your assets of value to build.
Call it panic, I call it giving value to get value.
Graham was a very good and at times dominant pass-catching tight end. All other aspects of tight end...he wasn't so good.
He also had a tendency to disappear in big games and get muscled around by physical defenses (lots of those in the NFC).
The subtraction of Graham makes our offense less predictable and the addition of Unger makes our offensive line a potential strength again.
How does Brees do spreading the ball around when he has time? Usually pretty good.
I'll miss Graham because he seems like a great guy and his story is great and he gave us some great memories. But he can't be the center of our offense. We have to evolve.
