quote:Same here. I just can't stand the way other people drive, so I pass them. There has been many times where I come up to traffic going 85 and when I get through it, I am going 95-100. I just stay there for the duration of the ride
I just can't go slow no matter what.

Me too. On top of that, I have severe road rage so you better gtfo of my way or I'm ridin your arse.
If I'm on the interstate I'm doing at least 80-85 unless I'm in a hot spot. Waze FTMFW

One altercation. Called the cop out for his claims being completely BS. He dropped half of them and I got the other half fixed within the week.

I haven't had a moving violation since 1980. That was about 500,000 miles ago.

I have had maybe 6-10 tickets in my life. Never once gotten a warning. I have gotten out of a couple of DUI's though so I can't complain.

Denham Springs police searched my car once after pulling me over for a cracked windshield. I thought it was a little excessive considering I never even received a ticket but whatever. That same cop ended up killing someone with an "accidental discharge" later on while working for another department.
A cop in Golden Meadow got me for not having an inspection ticket on my boat trailer. Same cop got me a second time on my way home 2 days later. At least he was polite both times.
Those are the only three times I've been pulled over since I got a drivers license in 1999.

Or I'm a genius and you're too dumb to realize it

Was stationed in Dallas, Texas. Taking my kids to school on morning. Made a right on red without a full stop. Motorcycle policeman pulls me over. I pull off the road completely and into a parking lot so he would not have to deal with the traffic passing by. Comes up and sees me in uniform. Asks me why I did not come to a full stop, were my kids late for school or was I late for work? I said no good reason, just being lazy and in a hurry. Checks me out in uniform again and says have a good day and drove off.

When the radar detector or the waze app says cop ahead I slow my roll. Kinda looks like this

I haven't gotten a ticket since I downloaded waze 2 years ago.

Why people still speed on the interstate is beyond me.
City streets, I can understand. Not paying attention, simply not knowing, clutter of other signs, looking for your destination...but places like I-10, 610, the Causeway, etc. just doesn't make any sense to go fast enough that would warrant being pulled over IMO
I'm the opposite. I don't speed on city streets, but usually go 10-15 over on the interstate.

Got pulled over in Harrison, Arkansas once for speeding. Wife's parents were in back seat. Her mom was mad as hell I got pulled over and you could tell it.
Standing at my front bumper, the cop asked me, "Who are those people in your back seat?"
I said, "My In-laws."
He asked, "Why is the old broad so angry?"
I said, "It's my Mother in Law."
He laughed and let me go without a ticket.

Late night I-10 to Houston. I had just gotten a ticket the day before. Cue the blue lights.
I was PISSED, certain that I had not been speeding. I come charging out of the truck waving my drivers license yelling, "I was not speeding! I was not speeding!"
Cop is reaching for his pepper spray, and in the blue lights I see "Special Enforcement" written on the side of his car. I realized I had been stopped on a profile. So I start laughing.
By now the cop is sure I am on drugs. So I step back and calmly explain why I was upset and that I understood he had stopped me on a profile. I offered to let him search my truck, politely asking him that whatever he did, please let me be done as quickly as possible as it was very late and I had a big meeting in the morning.
He made a couple of cursory passes with the flashlight through my window, shook my hand, and let me go along my way.
