I absolutely love my job. It's a good feeling.

love my job.
good coworkers, good salary, good working conditions, i like the field. small mom and pop company without a lot of bureaucracy.
is it perfect? nope. i have to travel a lot and miss things with my kids on occasion. but on the flip side i like alone time in the car and getting to see a lot of the state and nation i would not otherwise have ever seen.

I like my current job, but I've definitely been in situations that made me hate the world.
Gotta get out of that ASAP. Even if it takes months to plan/execute an exit that needs to be your priority.

Your high horse. Come down from it.
But he's right. Maybe not about the guy he replied to (you gotta do what you gotta do when kids/wife depend on you), but there is nothing more heartbreaking than seeing someone resign themselves to misery.
Short term? Yeah I get that. My first job after undergrad was pure shite and I wanted to cry every other day driving to the office. But I sucked it up for a year becuase I didn't want to look like a job hopper and I was planning to go to grad school the following year.
You gotta have a plan to get out of a bad situation. To answer the OPs question, that is how you cope. It's sad when people wallow in a terrible job and do nothing to change the situation.

Millions are doing it. I look at their lifestyles and often wonder who the stupid one is, him or me.

I enjoyed my job, but that is slowly fading after some creative differences.

Nope. Just got off the phone with the boss and quit today. Got plenty of cash saved, and I've been given a few offers I've previously refused, so I'm not all that nervous. Got 2 weeks left, and then I'm heading home, at least for a while.

Didn't web have this thread a couple weeks ago?
As for my job: Love. This. shite. Couldn't imagine doing anything else.

Don't know if i like it enough to be gone half the year. Contemplating going back to my old job and being home every night

this is a timely thread...and I seem to be in the majority when I make very good $$ but am completely unsatisfied.
Yeah, had the same thought. My life is just 100% consumed by this job moving around the country all the time. Have to say I've gone into a funk recently and know I've got to get out of here. Don't have family, a mortgage, or even pay rent, s I don't really owe anyone anything except myself, which is making this an easy decision.

I enjoy my current job. Work for an oil company in Houston.
Yes, there are stressful stretches at times. However, I enjoy (most of) the people on my team and like the work.

For all of the people that say they love their jobs, how about naming what your job is?

I love my job and the people I work with... I'm very fortunate.

I like my profession... not necessarily my job EVERY day.

I do. I feel lucky and blessed. They pay me well. I like the people i work with. It is technical work that is challenging and that i can be proud of.
i worked hard as a kid to ensure that I would be in such a place.
I work as an engineer in a large semiconductor.
