Yes, it is perfect for where I want to go - I work in tech at a "start-up" sized company that is very well funded, both privately and by the state. I am getting a lot of valuable experience. It took a lot of work, failing and getting back up again to be where I am, but if all goes well, I will get to stay here for a while, and I will be able to build my own team within the next year or two.

My pay is still a bit on the low side ($48K), but come July there will be a raise that will get me where I want to be.

I'm 25.

For the most part. Just had my annual review, I'm awesome by the way, and told them I wanted to get involved in more projects throughout the company. Boom, as of yesterday, I'm part of a larger compliance project. In the long run, that will be very good for me.

that's the beauty of your scenario, you can do both while fulfilling the commitment, might need to get a little time on the side for the airlines but you will have plenty of info available from guys in the squadron

I do, however, like the people I work with. I like the stability it provides my family.

So with that, I'm content with my job.

It's about 50/50. I like the stability, money, most of my coworkers, and about 3/4 of my clients. Management blows smoke constantly and really don't give damn about employees. Also, long hours and very stressful at times.

Go out today and eat your favorite meal. Study it, learn about it, talk about it.

Then eat that same food every meal for the next 30 years.
