Pocic was the first name he mentioned when talking about who will play center.

Also said he likes Pocic at guard and tackle.

Mentioned Dodd and Clapp as possibilities at center too.

Still trying to find a spot for KJ Malone. Says he's not ideal size for a tackle but his quickness makes up for lack of size at that position.

"what did I do signing this clown?"

That's a direct quote. Seriously.

More coming...

Well clearly he thinks Pocic can be a good center and I'm good with that but I think he played better as a guard last year. He pulled really well.

Pocic will get paid well if he stays healthy. He is quite the swiss army knife on the OL.

Yep. The ability to play every spot on the line = long NFl career. Barring injury, of course.

I'm sure Pocic can be a good... possibly very good center as well.

It seems preferable to have to have tall tackles (Pocic is listed as 6'7") and not unusual for guards, but I was under the impression that's on the tall side for center... I mean that as a point of curiosity as opposed to criticism.

well the answer that you always get when that is brought up is that Pocic is very flexible, flexible hips, and can get low and move easily at the center position.

Pocic is athletic enough to man every position. It is the cerebral aspect that makes his placement at center the best fit. As coach Grimes says, he is the coach on the field. KJ is a tweener. Small for the tackle position and still a little light in the pants for guard. He will get some sub time but will not win a starting job.

Our line never really played well last year with Pocic at center. It was much better with Porter there. Maybe that is because whoever replaced Pocic at guard stunk, but all I know is I thought Pocic at guard really helped. We need to find a center and keep Pocic at guard.

I thought Andy Dodd played well at center when he was in there. Dodd at center and Pocic at guard isn't a bad option.

The other guard spot could be a Brumfield, Clapp, Tuema battle.

6'4" is short for tackle? Do I really care as long as he can block?

On a side note, if his hands and speed are any bit like his father's, I could see him getting a look at fullback. I would have said TE, but we have a million of those already and at LSU it is just another o-line position anyway.

Hadn't thought of that but I like the idea.

A fullback who could run into the secondary and catch a pass.
