Everybody in the pic gets a subpoena for their testimony. This shite will end shortly after that.

However, if I'm LSU, I spend the $800k just for the fun and principle of the matter. Seeing Chavis mad is kinda soothing.
That's why you countersue for the original amount + legal fees. A&M fricked up bad on this one.

Better yet what kind of dumbass makes the argument that he wasn't working/recruiting for a school when he knew that he posed for pictures with a recruit in an A&M pullover in mid January? Did he think those pictures just disappeared or something?
Chavis dumb
...and apparently his lawyers and the other A&M people are as well. That is one of the most baffling things about this to me. They all knew those pics were out there but perused this anyway. Oh well, better for LSU!.

I'm guessing LSU gets paid then the NCAA investigates and levels infractions on A&M.

I wouldn't get too excited in this thread just yet.
What's "right" and what's adjudicated in a courtroom are often two vastly different things.
And anyone thinking there's some NCAA penalties coming from this, no matter how 'obvious' the infractions are, is not thinking clearly.
History has proven the most likely outcome of this whole situation is LSU gets pretty much nothing.
But if it's pushed out to the max, it'll be fun and worth it.

It can't be that easy. This is Aggie we are talking about. Having run away from home and annual Longhorn beat-downs, Aggie is obsessed with her new Big Brother. If The Chief is morphing into The Thief in front of our eyes and his lawyers are pointing fingers at LSU instead of settling what is a pittance, there has to be some Aggie End Game here. I predict this gets really uncomfortable for BOTH parties.
Let me put this another way. The Thief feels that kind of self-righteous indignation that only a man with extremely limited maturity can feel. His wittle ego was hurt that we did not love him more. I bet he has something on Les and is playing that up with Aggie lawyers and they are betting LSU will fold. Now that the timeline is clear and the photos are out, NCAA violations will likely occur regardless if LSU turns them in or not. Aggie is hell-bent on hurting LSU one way or the other and if they get hurt here they will want to hurt back.
Bottom line-all that shite Longhorn talked about Aggie and all those Aggie jokes were true. They are thin-skinned losers and they don't play with the Big Boy rules. Which is weird because they are from a Big Boy State, but I guess being Longhorn's bitch has made them cowardly and petty. They snipe and bitch and measure success by how much they hurt you. Which is precisely what they are doing here, actively trying to harm LSU. The SEC is generally VERY collegial by nature at the Administrative level in a way that the SW and Big 12 never were. That is a key point here. We will regret the day we let them into our conference at the highest level. On the field we will just continue to beat that Aggie arse.

didn't think I could lose much more respect for Chavis for the way he exited, but this whole ordeal on top of it shows what a piece of shite he really is.

I wouldn't mind dropping one in the Chavis Memorial Stall in TS

What I am missing?
He left LSU Dec 31st
Is this pic taken in Mid Jan? ...Wouldn't we expect that since it was known he was at A$M by the Jan 2nd

There is no melt here dude. Ya'll are going to find out quick you got the short straw on this one. Chavis is wrong per his contract and he is trying to either screw LSU or you guys into paying for his being petulant. You guys already have a defense that historically loves to blow leads. Just wait until Chavis takes over.

Chavis' problem is his time line vis-a-vis whether he was in breach of his LSU contract -- and if he was deemed to be recruiting for A&M while that contract was in place, then a.) he owes the buy-out, and b.) A&M has potential problems with the powers that be since it hadn't officially recognized him as a recruiter.
Chavis claims he informed LSU he was leaving on Jan. 4th, meaning that his 30 day notice period expired on Feb. 4th -- after which he would have been free to do anything he wanted for A&M after that date. Chavis further claims that he didn't start working for A&M until Feb. 13th.
The 30 day notice period means you're still employed by LSU -- but that you're giving 30 days notice.
What the recruting pic undeniably shows is that on Jan. 15th, Chavis was actively recruiting for A&M. Clearly, Jan. 15th is well within the 30 day notice period which began Jan. 4th.
This means he's in violation of his contract with LSU. Which in turn means that he owes the buy-out.
And which in turns means that A&M could be in some luke warm water if it was actively engaged in Chavis breaching his employment contract with LSU. There is a tort out there called "intentional interference with contractual relations."
Is all of this silly over $400,000 involving 2 of the wealthiest athletic institutions in the land? Yes. But if we're gonna hit with sanctions over some stupid rule involving a kid who signs a financial aid committment for early enrollment, doesn't enroll, and then signs elsewhere - then I say what's good for the goose is good for the gander.
frick 'em all.

Do we know at what point LSU stopped paying him? I assume we paid him though the 30 day notice period.

Can't wait to start the melt countdown for A&M fans on day one of this upcoming season when everyone realizes that Chavis is a terrible fit for Sumlin's program and Arizona State skullfricks y'all in Houston and hangs 50 points on that stout new D

why didn't that fat fricker get off of his arse and recruit for LSU?

but, but, but, the NCAA and the SEC hates LSU...there's no way the money and infractions go in our favor!

I don't understand the LSU decision here. What is our TAF budget?
I say eat the 400,000 it's already a sunk cost and turn those frickers in for rules violations.
Don't give them an option.
