Even if you survived you'll probably wish you were dead due to the PTSD

I would want to be close to an exit on the off chance I survive. Don't want to have to wait for other people or have to climb over bodies to get out of a burning wreck. Especially if it is sinking into water. Plus the leg room on an exit row can't be beat...

I'll do one better and post from an airplane while taking a dump at 35,000 ft.

what kind of crash? into a mountain I would want to be in the back. The San Francisco crash in 2013 I would have wanted to be in the front.

The black (orange) boxes are in back for a reason.

I believe the experts say the back is the safest place.

After I watched the movie Alive, when the back of the fuselage gets broken off and the front gets crushed killing the pilot and mortally wounding the co-pilot I have always preferred front middle. But I'm sure someone will be here with some statistics.

According to the research, your likelihood of surviving a plane crash if you sit in the front of the plane (first or business class), is 49%. Passengers in the middle section of the plane have a survival rate of 56% and the passengers in the rear of the plane (as defined by those rows behind the furthest part of the wing) had a survival rate of 69%.

The back near the galley is better for getting drinks and flirting with the flight attendants
