Wife needs to take a client out and he's a vegetarian. I need recommendations. Don't care about the costs, more upscale the better.

Baton Rouge Area

Thanks

Thanks make sense since the person she is taking is Indian. She's been wanting to try Bay Leaf anyway and if its on the company's dime, that's even better.

Take an Indian person out for Indian food? Seems risky to me.

Texas de Brazil has the best salad bar in town.

I wouldn't take an Indian out for Indian. He's going to invariably think the food is crap. He also might think your wife is making assumptions about his culture.

Ruffino's has salads, pizza and pasta dishes with no meat or seafoods. Eggplant parm is a good vegetarian dish. I'm assuming this person eats dairy.

Italian should fit the bill. Gino's would probably work, as well.

I thought the salad bar, only, option was about 25 bucks. I've only been there once. If I went back, I'd get that salad bar only. It's the best salad bar I've ever seen. Sounds pricy, but the offerings are quality and the lobster bisque was quite good. It's sort of a soup and main course salad combo.

I agree with Gris Gris there. I don't eat a lot of meat making it rather expensive for me to eat at TDB. Next time I go I'm just getting the salad bar. There's assorted cheeses, meats, variety of greens, seafood, soups, pastas... Now I'm hungry.

Can always go to a Lebanese/ Mediterranean spot. There are always vegetarian options on the menu.

Sorry.. the salad bar offering is paltry to me.. whether it's $50, $25 or $10.. It's a total rip off. I've been there a couple of times and would have take out from Whole Foods salad bar before TdB. I just find nothing appealing about that place.. Just me.

Vegetarian is easy. My best friend is vegan, and I always stress when taking her out because vegans eliminate dairy and eggs and stuff too.

I don't eat a lot of meat mainly out of coincidence for what I prefer. Plenty of pastas, pizzas, etc. around town. If you say more upscale is better, most any upscale place has a pasta with vegetables in it. Mansur's has one for sure.

I wouldn't just go anywhere that he has to get a salad. I'd want to go somewhere with some meatless hearty options.

The one time I was there, the salad bar was huge and everything on it was beautiful and fresh. Lots of cheeses and some Italian meats, steamed asparagus, so many things that were not the norm on a salad bar.

I wouldn't go back for the meat and I'd probably not go back unless someone I was with wanted to go, but I really enjoyed the salad bar offerings and I was sorry I hadn't stuck with it once the meat started coming around.

The only thing more laughable than that salad bar would be to bring a vegetarian Indian to a Brazilian barbeque.

I would the overprice to sit and watch their reaction.
But.. taking them to Bay Leaf would be insulting.
