There's a significant difference between throwing guys under the bus and telling it like it is.
CPM was being honest about the progress of players at different positions after a strong week of baseball. Saban makes a habit out of singling out players after losses.

Too bad his former players seem to love him, just like CPM.

He said that face to face while the guy was on the mound.

Without a doubt he is being too harsh. These are young impressionable men with fragile egos. His kind of blunt assessment may scar them for life.

Besides it is the job of the rantards on here to level scathing, vile and personal insults toward the players and coaches.

Nothing to see here.

If the two named players Zardon and Norman step up to the plate and improve nothing more will come out of Mainieri's mouth. If they don't their playing time will dwindle from here on out.

Mainieri was asked why of the change and he answered.

No, and Les Miles could learn a few lessons from him in this department.

To the point of actually choosing and supporting Alabama over their own alma mater, LSU. I'd say he has pretty good support despite his harshness.

CPM has been trying to take Zardon out of the lineup since day 1. He proclaimed to all of the media that 3rd base was not written in ink. The guy hasn't been given a chance to get settled in, even after performing well at the plate. If one bad game seals the deal, then Hale should never be allowed off first base again (I don't agree with that premise, but PM is making what sounds to be a pretty, permanent move after one bad game defensively by Zardon).

If Mainieri just said we're going to take a look a different infield for a little bit to see how it goes, I might be less agitated. But he's proclaiming this is the long term solution.

He's had a couple of bad games over there.

I would say it was one bad game plus one bad play in another game. He's made good plays otherwise. Splitting hairs

And he's not taking him out the lineup. If that was his goal he'd just put Zardon on the bench and have Chinea play 1B.

Thank god for small miracles.

Honestly, I'm just pulling for Zardon. And I really like Hale at 1B.

the point of the thread is not whether or not Zardon deserves to continue playing 3b. But, how pm comments about players.

I never really felt comfortable with Zardon at 3rd, especially after seeing that ball roll between his legs into left field.
