Does the 525 yds Ole Miss had that night compare to 3-4 4 RBIs?

All I'm trying to say re: the Ole Miss game is that the offense did the defense no favors. That was a team loss. Yet you're putting it squarely on the defense.

Regardless, the whole scope of my argument involves last year's offense and the strain it put on the defense, which is pretty much not up for debate. Yet, you want to bring in the 1 year in Chavis' tenure where our offense was good in order to refute everything about last year. A novel approach, but it doesn't quite work.

Is it really that far-fetched? Yeah, we had good TOP on offense at times (which kept his D's fresh), but we didn't exactly light up the scoreboard. His defenses kept us in a number of ball games. There's really no debating that.

LSU's time of possession last year was pretty good. Points shouldn't matter that much. His D should perform no matter what's on the board. His defense had PLENTY of rest and plenty of chances to seal major wins for us.

Sorry we weren't in blowouts Chief. I know it sucks to have the spot lite brightly shown on your arse and actually make you do your job...which, in crunch time you sucked motherfricker, yet you were paid at the highest level!

All he's doing is going somewhere else to buy more time for himself before they catch on to his lass minute gifts to other teams.

He acts like the heat was on Miles and he is correct. BUT, the heat was hot on Miles largely in part to hiring Chief and paying at the highest level and under performing.

Everyone who is a Tiger should be EXTREMELY happy he is gone. I cannot wait to see that fat POS up in the booth trying to inform the sideline on how to stop LF!

There's no reason to shite on Chavis' actual time here, he had top notch defenses year in and year out here. The fact is we were in the Top 15-ish of college football in defense every year under him. Sure, he had some faults, as does everyone, no one is perfect. Saban's defenses occasionally got lit the frick up too. The way he left and his "legacy" is a whole 'nother story though, he deserves what he gets in that.

its easy to rack up yards when you have to repeatedly send your defense out because your offense turned it over 3 times in one half.

Absolutely. frick Chavis. But I wish people could put aside their blind hatred of him for about 5 seconds and look at, like... facts and stuff. Oh well. Rant'd.

Last year's offense sucked yet the defense still blew two games at the end. And in two of the losses where the offense sucked the D sucked just as bad.

our defense really stunk it up in 2013 with our only good offense of his tenure

Those who know him best had sensed he was less than happy during the past year at LSU. He felt that his defense was under unnecessary strain because of the Tigers' offensive inconsistency.

Well...if he's concerned about his players out there two or three times as much as the offense...I don't blame him. In his defense (about giving up late leads), the defense is probably gassed from the offense's inability to...........

get a first down.

why should anyone be EXTREMELY happy about losing one of the best DCs in the country, to a division rival, and replacing him with an also ran position coach?

So we're gonna put the Bama game on the defense? The same defense that held them to 13 points and less than 200 yards in regulation? Really?

Half of those yards in the 2nd half on Ole Miss drives that had nothing to do with LSU turnovers. TOP wasn't that big a factor so don't give me the D was tired.

You just made my argument and don't even realize it...

if you stop the team in less than 6 plays per possession your defense will not be worn out...they were wore out because they can not stop teams on 3rd down...

apparently you are not very observant...its not called 3rd and Chavis because the defense stops teams cold everytime...its from teams repeatedly converting 3rd downs...especially at the end of the games and pull out wins when they should have lost...

Now run along go back to playing your play station...

You obviously aren't able to put aside your Chavis butthurt and look at things in a calm, reasonable manner. We don't even sniff victory over Alabama last year without that whale of a performance by our defense.

Chavis isn't one of the best DC's in the country go look up his stats in 2013 when the defensive talent wasn't out of this world and tell me more about how great he is

are you really this dense? because I think youre fricking with me at this point.

the defense was on the field because the offense turned it over. if the defense is having to be on the field because the offense turns it over, then the defense becomes tired. you say "don't give you the D tired", but I don't know how this isn't so obvious. If the offense doesn't turn it over, they continue to hold onto it, thereby increasing TOP in their favor, and still have the chance to turn those into points. iirc all 3 of the picks were in scoring range. thats at least 9 points off the board. LSU lost by 3.

like I said, this isn't that hard.
