Why does it matter what they make? I have 1 mg bars and just add them up & break in half as needed. I assumed he just ate 5.

No one is taking 2 and a half xan bars to fly unless they take them oftenc have a high tolerance, and STILL trying to get blitzes.

My sister is TERRIFIED of flying because when she was 15 on the way back from a church trip her plane almost crashed, I guess it was like those videos when a plane is about to go down and everyone is screaming/crying/praying, so now when she flies she takes 3-4mgs and is totally fine and doesn't seem out of it, just calm. It is so weird because she never takes xanax other than for flying and if I took that much I am sure I would be retarded. It must be because she has so much anxiety that she needs it so it goes there instead of fricking her up.

I had a similar situation and that's how I ended up at that high dosage. I'm wondering if I need to back it down now.

This is actually why I'm asking. I took 3 mg recently to go to San Diego and remembered nothing else that happened that day. I don't drink or take anything else while on Xanax and flying but that scared the crap out of me. Friends with me said I behaved perfectly normally but I couldn't remember anything after the airport.

Well ya! Like I said I have taken xanax every single day for 16 years so I obviously have a tolerance and you took in one dose what I take in 6 days...its not shocking that you didn't remember much.

I used to take Ativan, just use as the doctor says and don't overthink it. .5mg isn't a lot

I've taken Xanax every day for over 15 years too and take 1-1.5 mg a night. But tripling my dosage for flying has always been necessary. It just freaked me out that I couldn't remember saying and doing certain things that evening.

I think that is way overkill, and I tell her that. I would suggest 1mg 2 hours before the flight and then another .5 1 hour before. If you are still anxious 30 minutes before take another ,5mgs under your tongue, it dissolves and hits you way faster that way. You are a girl that is like 100lbs less than me, I would think that should crush any anxiety. In my experience the key is to take some early, before the anxiety sets in. If you do that you are good but once it sets in you are kinda fricked and need to take way more than you should.

Yep. Thanks. I'm going to end up at 2 for my next flight and see if that gets it done.

I think that is wise. My advice is just to take it earlier than you think you will need it, keeping it from setting in is the biggest thing because once it sets in people tend to do whatever they can to get it to go away and that usually includes taking more than they need.

Yeah. My goal is to sleep through the flight wheels up to wheels down. I always have to take my 1st dose before Ieave for the airport and add on from there. I don't know if my anxiety is better or my body isn't responding the same but 3 mg was way too much last time.

Anyway - 5-10 mg to fly is freakish and I want to know how big he is and how often he takes that much Xanax.

IDK his situation but I am 6"5 235 and have taken xanax for 16 years and would never ever consider taking that much!

It took 5 to get me to Moscow. 3 mg from DFW to ATL and then I topped off with another 2 mg to help me sleep the rest of the way there. That's 10 hours of travel. I can't imagine taking 10 mg. Benzos are starting to scare me.

They don't scare me at all, I have never take the urge to take more than what I take. Taking more isn't appealing to me since it would just make me want to sleep.

I never want to take more than usual and I never take them unless it's my bed time or time to fly. But I keep hearing about people ODing with benzos and it freaks me out. I do take 1 mg every night and can't imagine going back to mind racing when I try to sleep but I don't want to die when I get a cold and top off with NyQuil.

You can take A TON of benzos on their own and be fine, they really are only dangerous if you mix them. That being said....apparently for some people it doesn't take much of a mix at all to die.

Booze and coke seem to be the mixes that kill most often.

Well coke isn't an issue with me and I don't drink all that often but it would suck to die bc I drank a bottle of wine with my husband or friends

That's what sucks about taking Xanax every night.

Yeah had a friend recently that went and picked up someone else's script of 30 bars 2mg xanax and got pulled over on the foot of the Causeway Bridge in Metairie, La heading to the north shore. Well when he got pulled over he freaking swallowed the ENTIRE BOTTLE . 60mg of Xanax. Well the cop wrote him a ticket and he said he was trying his best to hurry and get on his way. Lol the bridge is like 24 miles long. Well he didn't even make it to the other side and got pulled over and they pulled him out and arrested him for DWI. He said he could literally see the end of the bridge and was just going to pull over when he got off and called someone

fricking idiot. He should have just told the cop like. "Hey bro please give me that speeding ticket and call me an ambulance"

Btw he said he never admitted to the cop and he didn't od. They through him in the drunk tank and he slept for several days before he could use the phone haha
