Love the springs. The key to great relaxation is to let them cool down a bit.

Some nearby state parks have great scenery. Ouachita and Catherine come to mind.

We caught a magic show w the kids at some place downtown....

there used to be a small bar...had a piano player...maybe the Ohio club...not sure...also at one time or another in the Arlington there was a dance floor and band that played...you can drink and watch the old people dance then sneak onto the floor that has the pool and the kanky panky with the wife....good times for sure..

edit....might have been maxine's....i don't think i have ever been in an ohio club.... https://www.maxineslive.com/

From there hence the name. Oaklawn has a casino that's pretty cool but if you're looking for live music and a "night out on the town," i would suggest the Big Chill. Pretty decent place close to downtown. Most places stay open until 5 in HS also.....

The arlington is a decent place to get some drinks also..

There's a boat on the lake that does dinner cruises, decent food. I don't know how old you are, but there used to be a bar on the strip called Maxine's and it was a pretty cool little place. Go to a bath house, go hiking, take a horse carriage around.

Hot Springs, AR is more of a kid;s place IMO. We visited there once when growing up. I think I even remember a side-trip to that diamond mine in Murfreesboro. I had to be a toddler at the time.

We hit up Fat Jacks and some place called The Penny Pub last night, and both places were cool. We were gonna do the dinner cruise tonight, but we tried calling them several times today to make sure they were still cruising tonight, but we never could get anyone to answer the phone. We may still head to it to check in person in a little but. After dinner, we plan on hitting up BWW for the UFC fight. We are from Bossier City so casinos and horse racing really don't interest us. Also, we are staying at the Arlington, and checked the bar area out last night. Nothing but a bunch of old folks dancing to shitty music, lol. Thanks for all the legit suggestions.

I was coming here to say this.

They've lost a lot of days to weather, though

Yeah, I heard they cancelled today's races too, due to the weather.
