Cucumbers will be all over everything if you plant too many. I didn't ever get fancy - cow manure and triple 13 mixed in the dirt. Spray with miracle grow once a week for the first 3-4 weeks. Sprinkle a little sevin dust til the fruit comes on, to keep the bugs off. Had all the tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, and peppers we could eat.

We made a large "tomato" cage for the cucumbers to grow up. Just took some welded wire and zip tied into a column. Used garden stakes to keep from tipping or blowing over in the wind. Cucumbers will grow up the wire making it easy to see and pick them.

As others said put the cucumbers on a fence on the back wall.

I have a raised bed made of 2x12 with 4x4 posts as corners all screwed together.

I bought several yards of garden dirt from a nursery and added some other stuff to it like composted manure. I also have my own compost pile of leaves and lawn clippings.

2x12s will work fine.

5-6 pounds of 8-8-8 per 300 square feet 3-4 weeks after planting and again 3-4 weeks later.

Home gardeners like to over fertilize, which can lead to soil ph alterations and end up hurting in the long run.

Also just watch the pest impact on the plants before pesticide use. I like to wait until I can see the pests before applying anything to the plants except for vine borers in squash.

Cabbages don't grow this time of year. They are a fall plant

Peppers are easier from store bought plants unless you have a green house. Takes forever to get them started from seed without a greenhouse.
