Ya'll know we self reported this right? If you are looking for someone to blame, may want to start with Bo Bahnsen and our True Detective compliance dept. Idiotic to turn yourself in over such a ridiculous rule.

The hypocrisy that is the SEC office.
Nick Saban and his staff must be choir boys who are in no need of confession. Funny how Alabama gets their way with scheduling and special treatment. My God man, can Mike Slive and his arse wipes be any more bias towards the Alabama Universities.
From now on, frick His holiness Nick Saban and his servant Paul Finebaum. frick the hypocrisy of the SEC and their blatant cheating. Slive can get fricked up the arse royally. He can die tomorrow for all I care. I am fed up with LSU getting fricked in the arse.

Yes. Because typically self reporting lessens the penalty. Also the self reporting comes out when they know someone is breathing down their neck, SEC/NCAA, so it doesn't become giant shite show.

My understanding is that early enrollees CAN be signed BUT no financial agreement student aide wise. They need to be able to 1) afford the difference (I didn't think there was one but whatever) or 2) qualify for financial aide apart from the athletic department.

The title of the thread needs to be changed. This is a BIG deal...particularly not allowing early enrollees for two years. "Slapped" makes it sounds trivial - this is not trivial in nature by any means.

You think we were gonna receive serious penalties for this ridiculous BS? The NCAA is totally incompetent, and besides, the story is reporting the SEC handed down the penalties. The penalties are way too severe, which is a problem, but this would have never been an issue if we don't self report. Bo Bahnsen is a menace to our football program.

So... we didn't use the unlimited contact allowed by the FAA, trying to avoid violations, but get punished by the SEC anyway as if we did, just because he decommitted? How does that make sense?
