More specifically Charlie Day
I've literally had multiple LOL moments in every episode this year. It also seems like they've gone more rogue or blue comedy which I love.
Charlie will probably never win an Emmy but damn he's been awesome this season.

one of his absolute best performances of the show's entire run was the episode a couple of weeks back with the Health Inspector...
they had those long takes with the camera following him from room to room...and his repeating of "you goddamn bitch, ooohhh Dee, you goddamn bitch"

I've laughed at every episode and it's been a while since I've seen a show be that consistently funny. Charlie Day Is killing it and he won't get his comedic due because it's not a conventional sitcom and the awards shows don't give them a ton of credit

The Charlie Work episode is one of the best i've seen. It's right up there and maybe even surpassed Chardee MacDennis

It hasn't been at its best the prior few seasons, but this season has been fantastic.

This. It has rediscovered what made it an upper tier comedy. This is their best season in quite some time.

The Health Inspection episode was amazingly well written, acted, and directed. Long tracking shots are always fun to watch, but rarely do you see them in a TV show (True Detective also had an amazing one) or in a comedy of any sort.

Yeah the health inspection episode might be the best one ever. I died laughing at Frank playing the recorder to mimic the carbon monoxide detector

Agreed. One of the few times I have been truly upset a show wasn't longer. Everybody was funny, but Charlie killed it.
Usually Danny devito is just gross to me, but even he has been bringing the laughs this season.

He killed it in the "gang gets introspective" episode...bringing the high schoolers to the bar then calling the help inspectors
