And any cured cuts...like bacon...will take a little longer. The quality of an animal fed for show will be awesome. You guys close with freezer space should go bid.

No sure on his parish exactly but where we are they typically range in the $300-$500 average or so. Generally some more, some less. Some parishes also auction them off by the $/lb live weight as well. It's a great program that teaches kids responsibility and work ethic and would be supporting a worthwhile cause. Odds are most won't even break even.

Yea I thought there was some irony on the fact that Ive been feeding and caring for one at the house all winter but hunting, trapping, and killing others just a few miles down the road
