Specs on westerner was an absolute bust. Any other places with a good bourbon selection...some higher end wines would be a plus too.

Spec's on Smith St. near downtown is the best.

Spec's on Weslayan isn't bad either.

Find a goody goody near you. Far superior selection than specs.

There is a Goody Goody not far off westheimer and hwy 6.

They have been known to carry at least Elmer T Lee

Have gotten Old Forrester Birthday Bourbon, Rock Hill Farms, and a few others from there.

Like everyone has said, Specs on Smith is your best option. You can also try Houston Wine Merchant on Shepherd for high end wines.

ETA: Not sure what you're looking for, but usually the high end bourbons fly off the shelf at Specs on Smith.

I've found a couple of good bourbons on the shelf at odd times at a couple of the Richard's in Houston also. It doesn't have near the selection of Smith St. but it always seems to have a couple of things hanging around.
