Best Poor Boy near bourbon?

I know I've already started one thread asking for recs in Nola this weekend, and I'm sorry to ask another question. The answers in the other thread were very helpful, so I'll ask the FDB again.
What is the best poor boy I can find within walking distance of bourbon for lunch on Saturday? Also a local rundown on the crawfish situation would be appreciated. Looking to bring some back up here to cook on Sunday night. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Not looking for upscale for a sammich. I want to sit down somewhere outside and eat a sandwich and drink a beer. That's it

well there isnt much outside seating in the FQ. It's pretty confined.
but you can pick up a sandwich and walk to jackson square, or walk out to the river front.

Poor boy or po boy is like me getting pissed for people calling wild gobblers "toms." I understand it being a minor annoyance due to terminology, but it's really irrelevant.

I've only been to Nola once, and it was during Mardi Gras, so my memory is hazy. And I'd be more than happy to grab the food and walk to where we could watch the brown river roll on by

Don't rule out a muffuletta, some zapps, and a barqs from central grocery. Take it to the river and go to town

Nailed it.
Also if you want to pick up some crawfish check out Big Fisherman on Magazine. Not going to find any in the FQ I don't believe.

Johnny's. Also K-Paul's does a pretty awesome shrimp poboy for lunch service.

Napoleon House. Get the muffuletta. Either sit on the patio or get a seat near one of the open windows.

That about covers it.

I watched a worker at Johnny's put a toothpick in the top of a half empty Tabasco bottle and transfer the contents into another half empty Tabasco bottle. Not the most sanitary place in the world, and the sandwich that day was sub-par. I've not had the desire to go back since then.

Yeah, I would say that Johnny's is just okay. I don't think it's as great as some folks do.
In fact, if you don't care about paying a little too much for a po-boy (tourist prices), you can find several equal or better choices in or around the Quarter.

had their roast beef for the first time a few weeks ago and was not a big fan. I honestly like parkway's roast beef better

Damn and Parkways RB is terrible. I haven't had Johnnys since the last time LSU won the BCS. Was in town for the game and ordered a shrimp poboy. It was wonderful and satisfied my craving. Better than anything I could find at my Katrina refugee camp back in Texas.
