Food that has gotten expensive

Didn't want to hijack Balls' Waffle House thread.
There are some other "lower end" places that have gotten expensive.
We went out to a local place the other night and had
1/4 bbq chicken
mashed potatoes
green beans
for $8
On the way home we picked up Wendy's for her son and the double cheese combo meal was slightly under $8.
Granted we got a beer and had tip etc. but we also were sitting in.
$8 for Wendy's? Not this guy.

Fast food, all across the board, has gotten ridiculously expensive. Why eat a burger and fries from McDonald's or Burger King, when you can get a burger from Red Robin, or Roul's for a similar price?
The one thing that I notice that has gotten ridiculous - CEREAL. Prices get higher. Boxes get smaller.

Ya, that's a good point.
I just can't spend $8 at a fast food joint.

Salads. For lettuce being so cheap, they sure do jack up prices on it when you order one at a restaurant.

Beef for sure.
Chicken and pork are still relatively cheap.

OJ.
Feels like it's up 50-75% in the past few months.

Fast food is the first thing that comes to mind. I can't eat for less than $8

Why do you eat that shite??

Y'all need to hit up the dollar menu. I spend about $3 when I eat fast food. (Which is rare)

If you can't get full of less than 6 value menu items, you may have issues
But yea the prices have gotten pretty sill over the last few years. I remember them being fairly stable form when I was a kid up until about college. The last 10 years have had lots of rises I think. Anyone have data to back that up?

Briskets - I used to get choice full packers from Super Target for 99 cents a pound like four years ago. Now I can't find one for less than $4.99 a pound. Went from like $12 to $60 to $70 for a 12 pounder.

Yes, food prices have increased quite a bit.
Wait, you're complaining about that?

Popeye's a few months ago. Got a three piece with side and drink. $10.
I can go to a grocery stores deli section and get an 8 piece for less than that
Fast food can be cheap but can also be expensive.
Large jalapeño popper at jack in the box is $4. Ugh

Ground beef--on "sale" for $3.99/lb, really good sale is $2.99/lb. Chicken (even boneless breasts) and pork are usually much less than that. Meanwhile it seems like steak prices haven't increased at the same rate ($6.99 or $7.99 sale price for rib eyes), so what's up with that?
Bacon-$5/lb unless you catch a good sale. For that price, I'd almost rather eat sirloin steak for breakfast.

Some other cuts of meat have done that like skirt steak.
