2005
Ryan Perrilloux LSU
Al Jones Lsu
(Trindon Holliday number 22)

2006
Al Woods LSU
Charles Scott LSU

2007
Joe McKnight USC
Deangelo Benton LSU later to Auburn

2008
Michael Mauti Penn State
Chase Clement LSU

2009
Rueben Randle LSU
Chris Davenport LSU
(B. Mingo was 7 and Mo Claiborne was 17)

2010
Trovon Reed Auburn
Eric Reid LSU
(Tyrann Mathieu was 7)

2011
La'el Collins LSU
Anthony Johnson LSU
(might as well say Odell was number 9 in the state)

2012
Landon Collins Alabama
Shiro Davis Texas
(worth mentioning Travin Durall was 14 and 3*)

2013
Tre White LSU
Kendall Beckwith LSU

2014
Leonard Fournette LSU
Cam Robinshon Alabama
(we landed 5 of the top 10) (Gerald Willis was 5)

2015
Tyron Johnson LSU
Derrius Guice LSU

2016 ? Don't know how it ends up but currently 2 of the top 4 players are committed to other schools. Of course these players could end up elsewhere by signing day and may not be ranked the same.( by 247)

Ed Alexander ????
Shea Patterson Ole Miss

Just thought i'd lay out how we've done in the past since Les. Overall i think we've done solid in state. Hopefully this year we can close out nicely.

For the most part, Miles and his staff do an outstanding job of closing the state to other schools. LSU has signed 64 of 90 Louisiana top 10 prospects it has offered since 2006, the Advocate reported.

Once again, Shea Patterson is not a LA boy. He lived in Ohio til he was like 11 then moved to Texas. Moved to Shreveport in 2013. Only here for a few years.

And we have done GREAT in the state for a long time. Can't get them all, but we get most of the guys we want. And we have stolen some serious studs from OOS as well.

Plus, we have arguably the top recruiting staff in the nation now with hiring Ed O and Steele a month ago and Jeff Grimes last year. He came in with a rep of being a great OL recruiter and then goes out and signs the top OL class in the country for us his 1st full cycle in recruiting. Add Frank Wilson and Les Miles to that mix ...its gonna be hard to leave the state.

Sorry, 247 had Benton to LSU. My mistake.

No it's the other guys. He committed to LSU but had to go JUCO. By the time he was cleared, it was a choice between him and Randle and we made the right one. Best to look at 2 and 3 Bentons year since he didn't qualify and wasn't top 2 when he was able to enroll.

Where did I say it wasn't?

Just saying that he's only been here since 2013 and has no ties to LSU and stuff. Didn't grow up down here and all that.

Benton commuted to LSU bud don't have the grades. The next year he commuted to LSU but still didn't have the grades. The next year LSU got Randle and Benton went to Auburn. Even then, I think he may not have actually enrolled until 2010.

Wasn't Chad Jones the top player in the state one year or maybe #2 behind Joe McKnight?

What I've learned on the recruiting board today.

If you say Shea Patt isn't from Louisiana over and over and over it makes you feel better about him going to ole miss instead of LSU.

Not back in 07. He signed with LSU twice, 2007 and 2008. Ended up running away from Rueban and signed with AU in 2009.

Do you not remember the Rueben Randle/Deangelo Benton ultimatum that was an ultimatum but not an ultimatum? Benton wanted to go to LSU.

I'm not sure what ranking you are using, but I'm fairly certain Tyrann ended number 1 in the state.
