FWIW, I was in the dome for the state championship. Patterson is the real deal. The Pellerin kid OM signed this year is good, but not in Shea's stratosphere. Following recruiting I've seen a bunch of really talented kids. But Shea is the best I've seen. I'd call him the proverbial "can't miss" prospect. We shall see.

Why Patterson chose OM

I hope he is not able to pull others to go with him, like he intends.

We have the recruit I like in FF, so SP was lagniappe. FF is bigger and stronger and his stats are just as good. He remained committed even through the QB fiasco last year that could scare off most recruits.

We also went after Torrance Gibson, but how hard. Urban Meyer says he never recruited a player as intensely as Gibson, or wanted one as much, and intends to play him as a FR as he did Newton and Tebow. Do you think LSU ever has that level of intensity and certainty for a QB? That is what wins a recruit.

Once again sport, doesn't make it any less true.
I suppose laughing helps you cope.

I think LSU will be fine but screw the idiots who say LSU shouldn't go all in on an instate 5* #1 ranked qb!

We should hve closed on him and he should be here, period. This sucks.

I'm glad we got Franks, but that should not have made a difference on how we go after this guy.

It's just dumb. We have had our greatest offensive production in history with Mett, yet all these guys do is go after every style other than Mett.

Yep... I don't get it either.

Franks is listed as 6-5
He'll prob mold into a pocket guy.

The fence keeps in Louisiana kids. Shea is not a Louisiana kid simply because he lived in Shreveport for two years.

Why do you assume they didn't try like hell to convince him to come here? Are you saying we should have not gone after Franks as hard (someone who actually wants to come here) in order to possibly sway someone who really didn't have that much interest in LSU?
