Could've always reneged on the job position/title once kid signed.

Just saying.

I am very interested in the people bashing the kid for his decision. It is very telling

I don't mean to come off as bashing at all. I knew this was coming for a long time as well as others.

It's this afraid of looking butthurt mentality some posters have.
It's like not wanting to be disappointed on Christmas am if you are poor.

Losing this kid sucks just like it did when we lost cam Robinson and joe McKnight.
With that said acknowledge it and move on.

Hopefully this franks kid turns out to be better anyways.

What. Losing Crob sucked. Not signing one elite qb when you already have one committed isn't that big a deal.

No this doesn't compare we have Franks. We had no one committed at Cam's and Joe position at their talent level.

What makes you think Shea is superior to Franks??? I think you are putting too much stock in that extra star.

Why are harping on Shreveport so bad?
You don t think it's full of LSU fans, alumni and influence?

I'm simply saying its a VERY different place when compared to South Louisiana. Because of that, you shouldn't expect someone who just moved to Shreveport to be some sort of LSU lock.

Losing Shea is no where near on the same level as losing someone who has spent the majority of their lives living in Louisiana.

Glad this is now over, no one is surprised about Patterson's decision. He didn't want to play for LSU, so now we have a whole year to find someone to go along with Franks that does want to become a Tiger. This will all work out for the best to the Tigers!

I hope this finally means we can let the Shea Patterson obsession around here die. But I doubt it. I'm sure someone will post every article when he does well at a camp and someone will post weekly stats during the season. Nature of the beast I suppose

I haven't seen anyone saying they think the kid isn't a good prospect, in fact most will tell you he's a very good prospect but the fact is Cameron picked his guy and got him. In the end that was the difference. Just looking at Shea's comments today it's clear he wanted to be the man in his class and he got that at OM. It had to be something most knew could be the case all along. Its hard to reel in 2 alphas at QB in the same class. In fact , not only is he the man of his class, he's the man period. They have nothing ahead of him. He picked the school that gives him the best opportunity to play right away. Can't hate the kid for that. The brother part, while a factor for sure no matter how much those close say it wasn't or isn't, doesn't have to be mentioned at all. He chose the place that is the easiest to navigate the depth chart. From everything I've gathered, his preference, all things being even, is USC but they have a loaded depth chart and the distance played some factor. OM is empty at QB and he can step right in and start if he's as good as they say. Good decision for him.

This idea that we didn't attempt to get him is asinine. We told him we wanted him and tried to get him but he chose somewhere else. Its not on the staff. Only fault that can be given to the staff is that they didn't allow themselves to be extorted by the brother. I give them kudos for that

I said I hope franks turns out better than Patterson.
For LSUs sake... I don't know which is "superior"

Unlike seemingly most posters here... I don't salivate over 17 yr old HS boys so I don't know which is better today.

You can spin it all you want, whatever makes you feel better about this kids choice but we've spent the past 3-4 months bitching and griping about LSU qb play and we just missed out on a 5star in state prospect.
No big deal though.
