So how does this work?

Glad you asked! It is built on recursive grammars using the Dada Engine by Andrew C. Bulhak, best known from the Postmodernism Generator. The engine recursively generates your text, but you need to write the "grammar", a set of rules and vocabulary. Essentially, you're listing every tiny decision the engine needs to make so that the text comes out sounding like 50 Shades of Grey, and not, say, the Dalai Lama.

Using the engine saved me a lot of time writing boilerplate code. On the other hand, it is very limited in what it can do. It can not conjugate verbs ("kiss" to "kisses"), make pronouns agree ("those clamps"/ "that paddle"), ensure subject/verb agreement ("his eyes are smoky"/"his gaze is smoky"), or even pluralize (and you know even that is tricky). Therefore, I had to do low-level stuff like this:

demonstrative-pronoun:
"handcuffs" -> "those"
"nipple clamps" -> "those"
"flogger" -> "that"
"paddle" -> "that"
"leather strap" -> "that"
"rope" -> "that"
;
Aren't programming and grammar fun?

In the end, it was a brute force effort. I wrote over 1000 lines of code over the weekend to produce an output text I was happy with. I generated the source phrases and vocabulary by running basic scripts on the source text (frequency analysis, etc) but it was still a lot of manual labor, creativity, and adjusting by hand. I'd write a new "engine" before I tried it again.

I read that but it didn't help

Have y'all tried it? It's really awesome

I didn't read 50 shades. But is that the kind of shite so many women were crazy about? Blah

The sensual strains of Miley Cyrus drift through the headphones he put on me. He always puts songs on repeat in here. His hand tightens around my hair at my nape, holding my head in place.

You mean this doesn't get you hot?
