I was not at all impressed with Franks highlight tape. Every pass was a Jenningesque rainbow. Patterson is on a completely different level. If we lose patterson then we really need to get the qb from Maryland.

WTF are you even watching? Franks has a stronger arm than Patterson. I don't even really think it's debatable.

Patterson gets a lot of love because His mechanics are very advanced for a high school QB. His footwork is nearly flawless. He's a better athlete than people think and has decent size. He's a good college prospect because you know exactly what you'll get from him. I think his arm strength is merely average at this point, and if he doesn't get any stronger he might be close to his ceiling. I look at him similar to an Aaron Murray, Jimmy Clausen, Matt Barkley type. He'll come in ready to play from day 1, but he'll basically be the same player when he leaves as when he arrived.

Franks looks a lot like Jameis Winston (probably a little less athletic though). He might take a redshirt year to work out some kinks, but he is loaded with potential with his combination of size, athleticism, and arm talent.

Any program would be lucky to have either of these guys. I'm very happy with Franks, and if we can add Haskins to the mix I think this staff would hit a homerun at the position for this year.

Who cares if you were impressed.you're not important. Alabama,LSU,Florida and 25 other D1 schools think he's good enough to be their qb.Glad he wants to be a tiger!

Well I'm just going by what I saw, a bunch of rainbows. Not a frozen rope in the whole film. I want a qb that can zip the ball in the intermediate passing game. Who cares if they can loft the ball 60 yards down field.

Eta: that's why I like Harris so much. I think he will be really good the next 3 years.

There's not a whole lot of good video on Franks out there so I understand. Trust me, he has the ability to zip it. The people who get paid to evaluate these things said he looked better than Patterson side by side at LSU's camp.

It doesn't take a rocket for an arm to win. It takes brains. Efficient passing and very few mistakes. Personally i hope one of the guys we currently have turn it around. I don't care if it's Jennings or Harris.

In our offense, guys with rocket arms have been more succesful than the ones without it. Guys in at least their 3rd year of experience also perform tremendously better. Harris has a rocket arm. Jennings has tons of experience. Expect a big big improvement from our offense this next year.

I don't think you are talking about this video:

This was my comment on Franks in another thread on the video:
quote:

At the beginning of his video it was all deep balls and I was like, "let's see some over the middle throws". Then toward the middle and end of the video the over the middle, WR screen, quick slant and timing curl route throws came.

I'm excited about Franks.

I decided to read all of the posts on this thread. People, some of you need to chill out over this and don't be so combative with other posters because you disagree with them. Name calling never accomplishes anything. The term retard is offensive and can be insensitive. I work with developmentally delayed kds. Look, LSU has a great quarterback prospect in Franks. Brandon Harris and Anthony Jennings will be both a lot better this year and LSU is recruiting other quarterbacks. I think they will be fine. Shea Patterson is obviously an outstanding prospect and if he ends up at LSU, then great!! IF he ends up at Ole Miss, the world will not come to an end. He will make Ole Miss better, but LSU will still be damn good.

I spoke to a friend of mine that's on the staff at Calvary and he said that all indications are that Shea will commit to Ole Miss. Told me that he hopes Shea will pick LSU but he's thinking Ole Miss. Also told me that Sean Patterson does indeed already have a position lined up and will be going to Ole Miss soon, it just hasn't been made "Official" yet. He did say that Ole Miss has been very personable & down to earth in the recruitment of Shea and that the offensive coaches have talked X's & O's and shared ideas for several hours back and forth many times with the offensive staff at Calvary.

Looks like OM and we weren't wiling to put his brother on staff.
He's a good recruit that we wanted but wasn't willing to sell the farm to get him...

Hard to understand why some people can't grasp this, or reality for that matter.

Hate having to deal with Patterson at Ole Miss. However, we're DBU, and we're about to haul in an epic DB class for 2016, so Shea may hate dealing with us.
