What are some good spots to check out.

So far I have narrowed it down to these:
Red Lion
Liberty Kitchen
Brownbag deli
Franks pizza
Low brow
PetrolStation
Lola
Tonys mex restaurant

Are there any decent chinese restaurants in the midtown area? :jump2:

Unless he has time to make it out to Killen's in Pearland. It's really not as far as it sounds. Killen's curbstomps Gatlins.

Why the hell would you have your list narrowed down to these places in Houston?

Tons and tons oof great vietnamese in midtown. If you want sushi, you got to try Uchi on westheimer. Cant miss it. Underbelly also for fine dining and the hay merchant next door is arguably the best taphouse in the city.

go off the beaten path, head down to Old Pearland for lunch and hit Killens BBQ (not the steakhouse) and order the Beef Rib. You will never taste anything like this. don't order any sides, this thing is a monster and the most succulent piece of meat I've ever had. It nearly put me in a meat coma

forget Chinese

Uchi is where it's at

and I am a big Petrol fan, but I would pick Cottonwood or Hay Merchant for food options

Why not go to Underbelly? One of the best restaurants in Texas.

Red Lion is good, but I would try Underbelly, Ninfas on Navigation, Niko Nikos, and any of the good Vietnamese spots before the others on your list

All are fairly close to midtown

Saw them on a blog and looked at the menus.

Then figured I'd try my luck here.
