Anybody here ever been to The Burning Man?

Met a consultant today from silicon valley who said he went to it in 1996 and that it was pretty wild and debaucherous. I'm sure it's a lot difference now.

I have a couple of friends that go every year. I go to the Best of the West Rib cook-off in Reno which is the same week--can't tell where the smoke is coming from..

A friend went this past year..I don't know how they used to be, but the stories she told were crazy. Makes music festivals seem like Sunday school. It's a free for all apparently.

I'm still friends with an ex GF of mine who lives in Reno....tells me it's a wild time and I need to come out there and go with her if I can get away...She said it's like Woodstock in the desert. I'm not sure the missus would be too keen on that.

There is a New Orleans burning man community that had a small little village at the Tbois festival the last few years. Can't be nearly has crazy as the bigger events but damn that shite is wild.

A bunch of the nurses I worked with in San fran go every year and they basically told me it's just sex, drugs, and music all day. There is also a fighting pit ala fight club.
