There seems to be a whole lot more of you posting about basketball this year than 2-3 years ago

Wait what?

He's drawn a lot of attention by getting great recruits so more people are watching and seeing how bad of an in game coach he is.

Nah I'm very realistic with our basketball team. Jones has taken the right steps to improving this team and is at the very least an important building block to getting this team to Elite expectations again. He and the team have much to improve going forward.

With that said, I don't think our lack of depth is a sign of Jones being a bad coach. He does a lot with the youth he has to work with considering only one upperclassmen gets serious PT. Most of our starters are first or second year starters and a big portion of this team is either freshmen and sophomores.

Gotta give him credit tonight for making adjustments that helped... That run by Bama sucked, but LSU responded

Kentucky. That's all.

There is room for improvement, but the fact is that we have about five or six good players on the team. We have little or no talent on the bench. For us to go forward, Mickey and Martin have to return. We also need a good point guard.

I don't think it's fair to use Kentucky as a measuring stick for anyone. They are just on another level when it comes to basketball.

Johnny J is an average coach. Simple as that, really.

Jones is a bad coach because his roster isn't filled with 10 McDonald's All-Americans?

Seriously? Are you fricking serious?

Even if one of the two of M&M return, we're going to be deeper next year:

Simmons
Blakeney
Victor
Quarterman
Patterson
Hornsby
Gray
Mickey/Martin

Not to mention if Robinson can improve from year 1 to 2 like TQ did this year, same can be said about Epps and maybe Bridgewater

You're probably right. We shouldn't comPare ourselves to one of our conference opponents. Maybe let's compare ourselves to McNeese or UNO. Yes much better now.

this is easy. Let me see if I can diagnose. When we lose Johnny Jones is a terrible coach who does not know X's and O's. When we win, crickets chirp. The basketball idiots are the same idiots that run rampant on this place during football season. There are just fewer of them for basketball

We can compare LSU to any conference opponent, except Kentucky. Kentucky would be a double digit favorite over every team in the top 5. They could suspend their starting 5 the rest of the season and still would be expected to win the SEC.

Compare us to Arkansas, Tennessee, Georgia etc, and we look pretty solid. We have young but improving talent on the court, they just haven't matured enough to put other teams away. LSU hasn't been run out of any game this season, I think the worst run a team put on us was West Virginia... and we came back to win. If we can return the bulk of this team, it will be very good, maybe Final Four worthy next year.

Martin and Mickey can be very good, but they'd be role players on Kentucky. They're being asked to carry LSU, and that's tough for a couple of sophomores who aren't quite as good as some folks (themselves included) like to believe.
