I saw Patterson played at Montverde, but I couldn't remember if Simmons was there last year

Thanks. I assumed so, but didn't see it mentioned anywhere (I try to stay off the recruiting boards)

Simmons was there for at least 3 years, maybe all 4 years. Not sure.
But yea he and Patterson played together there for a while.

The future is bright for Patterson IMO.

I like him too.
IMO the most impressive thing him is his demeanor out there. From day 1, he was very comfortable, relaxed, under control and never seemed to be overwhelmed out there as a true freshman.
He was just a 3*, hell of a find by Jones IMO. Very underrated prospect.

Yeah, who knew that little 3 star pg would play this big of a role, so early.

He is very calm and collected for a freshman.
He needs to work on his mid-range jumper. He is dangerous from a few feet behind the arc.

Patterson
Hornsby
Quarterman
Simmons
Malone/ Robinson
6th man: Antonio Blakeney
Next year is going to be fun to watch. Seeing Patterson set up these guys for alley oops makes me excited to see him and Simmons reunite

I think we'll have have Craig Victor starting in January too.

You don't think they will use him like Quarterman this year? I feel like a player with his talent would be huge off the bench.

They wont keep Blakeney off the court, he will be a starter by SEC play.

When Blakeney starts going 10-12 and 15-16 from the field, CJJ will have no choice but to start him. Dude is a scoring machine and doesnt miss

His highlight tape from when he played in his hometown of Sarasota is unreal
I just love having that kind of firepower off the bench like the Spurs had with Ginobli forever. Seems like the kind of player that could take over games with a couple of your starters on the bench

Patterson reminds me of former great LSU point guard Ethan Martin. Never gets rattled, very calm, limited turnovers, plays very good defense and can hit the occasional jumper.

Nope
TQ or Hornsby will come off the bench.
You don't get a player of Blakeneys caliber and have him coming off the bench. He will be our 2nd best player behind Simmons. And honestly it probably won't be that close. He's an elite scoring guard that can get points in a lot of diff ways, which is something we haven't had in a while.

Trust me, I know how good he is
I would have no problem with Hornsby off the bench. What I meant by Blakeney off the bench was a role like Quarterman has now where he starts on the bench but comes in fresh as your 2nd/ 3rd option for the majority of the game
If his game translates easily then by all means should he be starting by January though

I gotcha
Plus, he and Simmons played AAU ball together and have great chemistry and feel for each other's game out there.
