I think it's time to start the 5 best players we have. We play down to teams and let them stay in the game. The first 5 minutes with Josh Gray on the court are just for him to get minutes so TQ doesn't have to play 40 minutes. Let's get the best 5 out there and get some rhythm going at the beginning. It's worth a shot. Losing to Auburn, Missouri, and State just shouldn't happen with the talent we have. TQ, Hornsby, JP and sometimes Mickey are the only ones who are giving it their all in nearly every play. Lastly, we are pathetic in defense. I don't care how well they shot from 3. Auburn average 50 something points a game on the road. That is ridiculous and we gave up nearly 80. Tired of being let down by this team every year.

Gray's best stretch of the game was the first 5 minutes.

In this game. Look at the year as a whole. He's one of the worst players I've seen play significant minutes. He's everything you don't want in a point guard. Only reason he is playing is because he has to. Besides him and the starting 5. There ain't much left on the bench.

6 players played 96% + of the minutes in the game. You really want 5 players to play all of the minutes? What difference do you think that will make?

The problem is that we don't play enough players as it is.

Gray had 6 assists and 1 turnover tonight. He missed some in close layups, but it's very evident he has ability to get to the rim. Quarterman last year got to the rim and couldn't finish, this year he is

Gray missed a few easy buckets. He was 1/7 from the field. That is inexcusable. What hurt the worst though was his free throw shooting tonight 5/10 (5/9 not counting the intentional miss) including missing the second free throw that would have given us the tie with 12 second left.

His shooting last night should be enough o bench him. JJ needs to make the whole damn team run the stadium more than a few times.

I don't know why people are so caught up in who's starting and who's not starting. It really doesn't matter who starts. The best players need to play the most minutes and be on the court to close out games.

You're right...let's sit our best five for the first 5 minutes of every game. That way they'll all be fresh when they hit the court.

LSU is suppose to rely on M&M for inside game buy all they do is to take shots from outside and if they miss they lose the game.

Seen enough of Gray sorry. He is way to much of a liability out there. There is no trade off to having him on the court other than coming off the bench to spell Patterson. Starters to me should be, Martin, Mickey, Hornsby, Quarterman, Patterson.

What good is getting to the rim if you can't finish. One turnover? Getting to the rim and missing a layup, or missing a key free throw, and the other team gets the rebound is a turnover as well.

And yes, Patterson should start in front of Gray.

These 5 (and Gray in spurts) are the only SEC-caliber players we have.

Malone has the 3rd highest plus minus on the team behind Mickey and Patterson. And he does that in a fraction of the minutes. Other players on the bench could contribute if they were allowed to get off the bench.

Case in point: Last night in the second half we were down by 4. Mickey basically didn't even cross half court on offense because he was tired / hurt even though we had a man advantage because the Auburn player was lying on the ground after a missed layup. So Jones takes him out.

Within 30 seconds we get a 3 pointer and Martin slams one home on a fast break. We are up 1. Jones immediately sends Mickey to the table to check back in. Auburn calls a TO so basically Mickey gets about 35 seconds of rest even though the team was doing fine without him.

Jones has been a horrible in game coach for LSU. He was better in his first year when he didn't care about the starters as much. Hopefully he changes or we will be back where we started after next year, possibly worse as Mickey, Martin, Simmons, and Hornsby will be gone.

Darcy Malone accidentally got a defensive rebound last night. He should be commended.

This was simply the 2nd game we've lost because we cant make FTs.

It never should have came down to that though. The coaching has GOT to improve, and fast. We cant build up losses to terrible teams and expect to make the tournament.
