The Cleveland Cavaliers have won an NBA-best 11 straight games and their star, LeBron James, says he's willing to do whatever it takes to keep the Cavs' success going -- even if it means coming off the bench.

"It's all about the team and for me being the leader of the team, it doesn't matter. Whatever this team needs in order for us to win, I'll come off the bench. I'm serious. I'll come off the bench," James said after practice Wednesday. "If it helps our team, that's what it's about, man.

"It's about a team and how we all fit together, how the five guys on the court fit together, how the eight guys or 10 guys on the bench all help the guys that are on the floor and so on and so on. So, sacrifice is the biggest word in team sports, but it's not about saying it. It's about doing it, as well. It's about living it."

Good guy Lebron.

On a serious note, I wonder if this is a subtle message directed at Kevin Love?

But why would that help the team?

Very good point. This whole quote seemed really weird until you said that.

LeBron would rather come off the bench and give his all for ten minutes on his "nights off" rather than sit out it seems.

This is the GOAT misleading article title. Article titles when Jordan played were not as misleading.

I'm sure the Cavs knew Love doesn't play D.

I get the feeling that Love is one and done with the Cavs no matter what. He doesn't get the ball in situations that really highlight his offensive game and he is the scapegoat whenever they have a bad night because of his defense when they knew what they were getting when they brought him in.

Yeah Love is not there for long. It's a bad match. LeBron is like Jordan in one way-both are shitty GMs.

Read the whole article. He's just using it as an example to show he will do anything and make any sacrifices for his team to win. (Most likely sending a message to Love saying winning takes sacrifice)

Love is very valuable to the cavs even though his offensive game is plummeting. He still spaces the floor a ton to help open up lanes for kyrie and Lebron (similar to what Bosh did). Love is still getting his touches and shots, he is just not hitting them.

I read the other day that if he was shooting the same percentage he was last year, he would be averaging ~21.5 points. He's just shooting really bad, which is odd bc he gets a ton of open looks.

Obviously he's not getting to go down low anymore but he's getting tons of chances from 3 (which he loved last year.. Shot over 400 3s I believe). He's just having a bad shooting year and adjusting. Either way he's gonna get paid. He has to decide if he would rather be Melo or be Bosh.
A guy who scores a lot of points on shitty teams, or a guy who makes sacrifices for a championship caliber team. Either way he getting paid.

I don't think there's any other way to take it.

It doesn't make sense, it's a perfect match on paper.

A pick and pop with Bron/Love seems unstoppable...granted they never really run that play, so...

Sure Lebron.

Report back to us in 8 years when your body is failing you and you are actually told you have to come off the bench.

I'm gonna steal what Jalen Rose has said on the Love fit in Cleveland.

It doesn't work well because for the first time in basically LeBron's entire career he is playing with a good a PG, so he has a lot less ball handling responsibilities. At this stage in his career LeBron is more of a PF than anything else. He just so happens to play the 4 a lot like Love likes to play it.

It doesn't help that Love can't move to the Center position like Bosh did in Miami at times. He can't protect the rim.

As much as I would love a player the caliber of Kevin Love to stay in the East, I think he would be perfect in Phoenix.

to sum you up, this Cleveland experiment has been an utter failure. Lebron is the best player on the planet, but it's hard to fit him into a team.

No Love is the fit problem. LeBron is goddamn monkey wrench, fit will never be a problem for him.

A team that has averaged 26 wins a season across the previous 3 years (33 last year) is in on pace to nearly double that average win total. Failure is not quite the descriptor I would choose, but then again, I prefer to make judgements based on objective facts, not on an abstract interpretation from a generally innocent interview.

When you have the best player in the world, you build the team around him. They have to fit him, not the other way around.
