Me too. I'm an adult and I don't want my own room.
I shared a 12x15 dorm room with my best friend in college and it was fun.

I have 3 kids in one room now and about to move a 4th one in there to make room for the baby. They love it. Fall asleep talking to each other every night. I fail to see how it would be better for them as people to be alone.

My dream house plan has 2800 sf with 4 bedrooms. If I build it, it will work for the current 7 people and however many more come along.

i shared a room with my sister for the first 5 years of my life. I don't remember ever having a problem with doing it.

Nothing wrong with it, especially if they are close in age. Better than them all sitting in their rooms on a computer or a vidya game system, as if they didn't have siblings to play with.

One point?

I shared a room with my brother my entire childhood. And it was the smallest room in the house. Also served as my dad's office area until he could build a nook for himself.

I didn't have my own room till I traded dorm life for apartment life at 20.

Why can't kids of same gender share?

When my two oldest were small, they had their own rooms. Half the time, they were sleeping in the same room because they wanted too.

Now we have 5 total. No way in hell they are getting their own room

How is that even up for debate?

Oh that's right, it's up for debate because it's being discussed by a bunch of people who turned into selfish a holes because their parents spoiled them and now they are going to do it to the 1.5 kids they may or may not decide to have if they ever finish finding themselves.

I feel the same way. I shared a room growing up and would never do that to my kids. Sometimes people need privacy, if they have their own rooms they can still hang out in each other's room, but they can also go to their own room if they want to be alone. I'd rather give them the option, than force them to live in the same room together.

Of course they can't afford a million That's why they have to buy a house in bumfrick so they can have their sq footage. My smallish house in Lakewood is worth more than the huge houses their looking at, but location is my priority and I absolutely see nothing wrong with a kid sharing a room(my house is a 3/2.5 so if I have 1 or 2 they won't have to)
I'll also add that my small house has been remodeled and has high end finishes. The 3000 sq ft'ers theyre looking at are basically contractor grade

I wasn't spoiled, I had to share and room and pretty much vowed to never do that to my kids. And I hope you're trolling about the last sentence. There's something wrong with waiting longer to have kids?

I've NEVER had my own room.

-shared a room with my sister growing up
-Freshman year - shared dorm room
-Sophomore year - shared room in apartment
-Junior and Senior year - shared room in sorority house
-Graduate school - shared room in a rental house
-Got married - share room AND bed with husband

I'm going to have to go to the nursing home to get my own room.
